Upvote if you still have hope for D2

I've been with Bungie and Destiny for too long to give up hope, I've been there through the hard times and the good time (that's right, time, cause there was only one, Age of Triumph, best time of Destiny) . Before anyone says that it's people like me, who's fault it is that D2 is like this, can you honestly say Destiny 1 didn't get better with time? Can you honestly say they didn't make improvements with their content? Can you honestly say you preferred D1 year 1 to D1 year 3, or hell even Year 2?

  • Lol you’re funny No, you got my money for D1. Three years from now when they decide to make D2 a complete game and it costs like 30$ (like D1 is) maybe I’ll consider buying it. No point in holding out hope for this game what so ever

  • No more hope, I gave them chances for 3 years but they ended up kicking me in the face that I had to call Mercy for healing.

Now its a months wait for new content which I fear will be enough for 1 month, 1,5 month at most, and then months of waiting again. I should've waited and bought the game for 25% of its worth in 2 years.

Destiny 2 isn't in such bad shape as the 99% claim it to be. They're just whining brats with only 1% constructive feedback, 49% nonsense-hate and 50% bandwagon haters. Destiny 2 is a hugely different game than D1, but I guarantee anyone a $100 PSN card that in two/three years, people will be creaming over how amazing all of D2 was

      • I don't think anybody is going to generate new interest in the game that's not even 4K on consoles yet Fallout 3 is already 4K for Christ sakes.

      • I just don't want to have to wait 3 years and spend over £100 to get a good game. There's plenty of amazing games that are cheaper - or Warframe.

        • The game got worse with time. House of wolves was the best update to destiny. It lasted for what, 4 months then shit started getting nerfed and changed around and ruined. I have zero hope for destiny now and for bungie. They have the same shitty business practices they have always had and they continue to have. They repeat the same mistakes they done in the past. It's like a yearly shit cycle programmed in their business model, which is terrible. I highly recommend supporting a company that made fortnite. They have already introduced 5 different updates in the past 3 weeks that I been playing the game. They have a community response video posted. They done a halloween event and fans asked for them to continue the event for fans to enjoy. Guess what, they extended it an extra month. That's a game company. That's a company that listens to their fan base and responds to their fan base and quickly responds and applies updates. It's a free to play game too which is nuts. The purchase items are a bit much.. But it's a way for them to pay for their paycheck and servers costs. So it's understandable right now. -blam!- bungie for what they done to destiny and the path they put it on. It's a pile of shit, glossed over in nice looking art which has been pretty bad since house of wolves. (warlock dildo helmets for instance)

No. No DLC will make me come back. If this is what is gonna be like I want no part on it. I don't want to play for bloody tokens like if it was a casino, I don't want to waste my time for hours for a vendor(If you can call it that) that will give me the same exact item over and over, I don't want to be held out of progressing, and I certainly don't want sweaty competitive shoved on my face. Not to mention this company can't pull their heads out of their quarters out of lies. The bungie that made me like fps is long gone. There are better titles coming out. I'm just gonna jump ship as soon as star wars cone out.

            • Prefer vanilla destiny cause there was only one way to hit max light and there was constantly something to do in order to upgrade all your weapons and gear. Sure there were improvements made all the time to the economy of destiny that they should have starter with from day one. But i feel D2 is the same with the economy not being up to scratch right now. Exotics in vanilla were also highly sought after and made to feel special when eventually they dropped. Now people arent bored of the grind, theyre bored of having everything and nothing to attain.

I have hope and I wish Live Team well, but I will not be purchasing Curse. I had my reservations for this game when the beta dropped and I took issue with many of the things people are bitching about. I got made fun of back then and as immature as it sounds, I'm so damn glad they all got swindled. I still ended up buying this game because of my best friends. They were the best part of D1 and we had countless hours of fun and laughter. Surprise surprise when all of my best friends lost interest in this game and admitted I was right. I plan to get my money's worth out of this subpar endgame/shitty PvP before Curse drops and then I'm out. I played D1 because I'm an old school RPG player and I enjoyed the heavy grind. My ultimate thrill was chasing god rolls. Even though the game was cheaply balanced in PvP, I still had the time of my life. Played all raids and ended up with a 1.5 and over 20 days worth of PvP time on my Hunter alone. Can't even bring myself to raid for gear that does nothing in this game. So much time and effort to simply look pretty. I can find better rewards for my time elsewhere. And the teamshot crap gets old after the first 24 hours in PvP. Running almost a 1.5 with a 2.1 kda because of that deplorable balance. Not to mention their matchmaking must not take jackshit into account because I see too many varying skill types in there. Even D1 had better SBMM when it was implemented. Destiny 2 has gone in the complete opposite direction of Destiny 1 and that saddens me on such an unholy level. I'm beyond disappointed and I have no desire to stick around. But I wish them well and best of luck to you guys who do stick around. But screw this game. I shouldn't have to wait for a sequel that should have learned many lessons what not to do from the first to get better.

            • It's still a game I enjoy, sure. Certain things are really too good to stop playing. I like the classes (Hunter, Warlock, Titan). The concept is awesome. The lore is actually really deep. No one can dispute the game feels good to play, its one of the smoothest shooters ever. And there's more simple little things that make it a worthwhile experience. But I've pretty much come to a realization. (Well. It actually happened in The Dark Below.) It's kind of a shrug thing. Destiny isn't going to be the game we thought of initially. It just isn't. I'm not going to go through the list of ways that it fell short and all that. That is well documented by the millions of posts made about how it sucks or whatever. But honestly, if Destiny were gonna be the "thing" I thought it was gonna be, it'd have to just become a brand new game by now. It's not just the problems with it going "casual" or having a meaningless power level system or bland loot. It's deeper than that. When I first envIsioned Destiny 1, I pictured like, Skyrim style epic. Or World of Warcraft epic. In my mind it would be a game so huge and deep that it kinda reinvented the wheel. I pictured story and quests like the Witcher 3, exploration and world building of Skyrim, the loot and shoot of Borderlands, and an RPG setup akin to Diablo 2. I pictured It just like they built it up to be, the Star Wars of gaming. But it's not. It never was. Never will be. A change to the skill trees or better exotics or a voice for our character is not going to cut it. Destiny still plays like mostly a cut and dry FPS. Traditionally, Bungie is an FPS making machine. So yeah it's no surprise those mechanics work the best. The gunplay, the gameplay, the setpieces, the score, the skyboxes. But the very moment you set foot into anything that resembles an RPG element? It loses it's way. They don't understand that "more story" doesn't just mean more comm chatter or cinematic cutscenes. They don't get that just placing caves full of enemies around the map and calling them "lost sectors" is not exploration. They don't realize that randomly repeating tasks in the open world like Public Events or whatever do not count as immersion. Nothing really has the depth an RPG typically has. Not even D1 could scratch the surface. Social spaces are still bland, leveling up still doesn't make you feel more powerful, gear isn't rare unless by artificial methods... I dunno. The FPS elements are Bungie's strong suit, but anytime there's an RPG element it feels tacked on. It still doesn't feel "open world" or "alive" in any way. It jUst feels like an expanded FPS. And with the latest installment and their idea of fixes, it just solidifies what I think. I think that it's meant to be a game you play in bursts basically. Play, see what there is to see, get what there is to get, max your characters out, then quit and play another game for a bit. Till the next DLC. It just isn't gonna be that game we, or at least I, thought of. It does not have depth beneath the surface. I thought it would be the Mega culmination of several top tier games like Borderlands or Witcher 3. Turns out it just borrowed frail pieces of those games and tacked them together. It does everything those gamew did, just at 20% power. That being said, I've made peace with that. It's still fun for what it is. I still have fun playing the game, even though I look forward to needed tweaks. But no tweak is gonna give that feeling of a Witcher 3 sidequest or that random mine you explored in Skyrim to find that awesome sword. It won't have the depth of the character progression like WoW, Diablo, and countless other Exp grinders. It just isn't that. So I'm not expecting it to be. I'll still play It, but with the knowledge that it isn't the perfect thing I was looking for. But really, no amount of tweaking is going to completely change the game.

Preferred D1 y1 to y2 by far. This game will definitely be dead for good if the next Expansion isn't massively better.
