Upvote if you still have hope for D2
I've been with Bungie and Destiny for too long to give up hope, I've been there through the hard times and the good time (that's right, time, cause there was only one, Age of Triumph, best time of Destiny) .
Before anyone says that it's people like me, who's fault it is that D2 is like this, can you honestly say Destiny 1 didn't get better with time? Can you honestly say they didn't make improvements with their content? Can you honestly say you preferred D1 year 1 to D1 year 3, or hell even Year 2?

In other words, "Can you honestly say that Bungie has not already learned all of these hard lessons once before? Can you honestly say that they didn't spend the last 3 years figuring out how to create the game that they promised originally?" Even though you don't believe it, you are actually "one of those guys", because you seem to be almost okay with giving Bungie another few years to navigate the learning curve to get the game that you expected, even though Bungie already knew how to make the game we all expected, but just decided not to. Destiny at release was better than D2, if for only two reasons...a really fun and well designed raid, and the fact that it was a new novelty the first time around. The novelty helped to distract us somewhat from the other flaws initially. That is why the backlash was so strong and swift with D2. We have all seen this song and dance before.

2 RepliesI have hope. That's why I still play. It's why I complain here. I don't think they screwed the game up on purpose. I think they drastically miscalculated what people want and were under a time crunch. I'm really hoping the DLC comes with a lot of fixes to the current problems.

5 RepliesI have a lot of hope for this game. The DLC looks pretty cool and I can't wait to see where they go with the game. Sure it has lots of problems but honestly what game doesn't have problems these days? [spoiler]*cough cough* ALL UBISOFT GAMES *cough*[/spoiler] The game has only been out for two months and I spent $100 on the digital deluxe edition so even if I don't like it, I'm still going to play it. A lot of my friends play it as well so I can enjoy the game with them.

(i was CoD and Halo player) Plus it had other charmes, which the most players are complaining about in Destiny 2. For me the ONLY problem in Destiny was that there were no dedicated servers.

5 Repliesi copy from a previous thread i replied to note that its direct towards no HERE over in the other thread yes but in here no neither will destiny one lol if you seriously think destiny 1 was better then you must be mentally ill, it took 3 years to make the base game and 3 more years to get it to the point its at now destiny 2 has way more potential in terms of time the base game of d2 already has double the things to do than base d1 the only thing is, is there isnt incentive to do half the shit in d2 but it is there so please next time you go on a salty rant please note that both suck d2 has more potential and the dick riders and the hater are both wrong cause the grey medium no one talks about is actually the correct one

Agreed, D1 got better & improved as new DLC rolled out. What I don't understand is how they roll out the heap of shit they call D2 without all those improvements & experience from D1? They know exactly what we like, what we dislike, what we want & what we don't want.....yet still they miraculously manage to -blam!- it up from the start (which is the most important part of any sequel in order to succeed).

2 RepliesI'm still having fun with D2 on PS4. My only strong complaints are about the inability to select gametypes in PVP and the lack of private matches. One thing I DO NOT miss is individually rolled weapons. That system imbalanced PVP toward those with way too much time on their hands.

It's a fun game to play with friends, but after seeing what they messed up with D2 I have little hope for meaningful changes.

Hope? Sure, but I know nothing is going to come of it so long as the “people in charge” continue to make terrible decisions. I’ll come back to Destiny when a few or all of these people are gone.

Having hope is good but they are repeating the mistakes they made in d1. The game should have developed from d1y3 but it feels like they went in the opposite direction. What makes you think they won't repeat this in d3? They might throw All the progress they make in d2's lifespan and then produce a shallow game again.

I spent 2 years without Destiny... I bought this game on PC... I feel like the strategy is to provide expansions and updates that will only slightly improve the experience enough to keep the player base playing.

For those who can't read or have awful memory Destiny as a whole isn't about the community. It's about creating a game in which the lead designers feel is fitting for them, not u the player, but them Look back at many interviews and statements by them. In pvp, it was butchered slow a slower paced rng filled mode where individual player ability was hindered because HE felt like it was right for him. Community feedback didn't matter, what mattered was how he felt about it and implimented changes to make u play how he felt we should play hence all the horrible changes even with player input Hope and small tiny changes aren't a sign that they're listening or are going to when u have ppl like this in charge Look at the thousands upon thousands of requests and threads given in the past years. All the suggestions from dedicated and experienced players. Where are they now? These greedy and closed minded designers with huge egos determined the direction even with millions of players voicing their opinions against many of the changes or lack of Quit blindly believing pr bs they feed u and learn to think on ur own. To think that these ppl are making changed for their own benefit and not the playerbase is disgusting and even worse when players blindly follow like brain dead sheep Speak out and not merely accept what they want u to play like. Its ur game so play it how u may want, not how they are making u

6 RepliesWhy would you compare y1 D1 to y1 D2? That’s like comparing a 3 year old car to a brand new one. Wouldn’t you be annoyed/frustrated if you traded in your old car expecting to get a better one with the brand new one and it’s the exact opposite?.... F that. You’d Bring the new one back and demanded your old car back. D2 should have STARTED our bigger and better than D1. Not “slightly” better than y1 D1.

meh - from the D1 Beta til now - I can't hold up much faith for Bungie to do something or not. There are DLC on the way, Season 2 and The Dawning - all in December. So we'll see what they improve or change. and what content (old or brand new) they add.

It will probably be good in a year or two when they add all of the basic simple no-brainer features which should’ve been in the game to begin with. Too bad they’ll probably charge at least $30 of DLC just to access them
