Natalie "Nat" Elidan
"Breathe. Five seconds in, three seconds out. Repeat it. Feel it. Feel the heavy breaths, feel the weight behind them. Feel it pull them down on your lungs like rocks."
Natalie's hand guided the staff in her hand. She felt the weapon running along the length of her arm, across her back. She saw the head of it pointed at the tree downwind from her, the glowing purple crystal staring at the bark like a dog stared down a treat. She saw the tree restlessly rustle, the leaves falling gracefully onto the grassy ground below them. It was calming, a state much like a trance that she put herself into. The tree shook violently as it slipped out of the ground, snaking it's roots up and into the air above it. Then with a spin of her staff, Natalie brought it to the front side of her person and sent the tree flying somewhere behind her. It skidded to a halt on the ground maybe fifteen feet away, and she held the staff with either hand now. The power in her weapon felt living, it felt strong. She lifted it once more and sent it flying into the air now, like an eagle soaring high. It hit an eagle, funnily enough, which made Natalie laugh at the comparison. The tree came crashing down to earth a moment later although a burst of energy knocked it off the path, sending it flying outwards and away from Nat like a baseball when hit by a big, invisible bat. Traci looked up with a smile. "I hope I didn't tire you out too much."
-
"A cup of coffee and I should be alright."
-
"I'll pay? We could go to a coffee shop I know."
-
"Alright, I'm game. Where is it?"
-
"Just a minute walk from here. ,'mon!" Traci grabbed Natalie's hand and began to lead her away.
-
Nat slyly got her hand out of Traci's, following behind her.
-
Traci didn't care, continuing to lead the way until they got to a nice, modern coffee shop. She opened the door for Natalie with a smile. "Here ya go!"
-
Nat walked in and gave a friendly wave to the cashier. She ordered her usual, a French vanilla like most basic white girls she knew. She had to admit it though, the taste was good."
-
Traci got a hot chocolate, not being a coffee person. She sat down and gestured for Nat to sit across from her.
-
Nat took her place across from Traci, sipping on her drink. "Thanks, by the way."
-
"No, thank you! That flying magic thing was the most fun I've had in a long time and that's saying a lot for me."
-
"What do you usually do for fun, anyways?"
-
"Make new friends, be a cheer leader for people, play a sport maybe, and y'know...have fun." She shrugged.
-
"What sports do you play?"
-
"Soccer, cheer leading if you count that, played lacross once, and some tennis. I'll play anything at least once really."
-
"Is there anything you avoid?"
-
"Nope. I'm up for trying anything at all really. As long as it's not like, some type of murder or something."
-
"Is murder classified as a sport now? They'll say everything's one, I swear. M"
-
"Not that I know of. I wasn't just talking about sports though. I was talking about everything in life. I meant I'd try anything in life at least once."
-
"Oh. A bit of an adventurer, yeah?"
-
"Mhmm! I like to think so. You only live once so you better live it to the fullest, right?"
-
"You've never heard of necromancy?" Nat jokingly replied, taking a sip of her drink afterwards.
-
Traci giggled. "Yeah well, I guess maybe that's not completely true if ya get all technical."
-
"I think the term 'Magical' applies better. You know, since not many mages actually get technical with anything."
-
Traci giggled again. "Okay, so magical. Doesn't matter because I can't be revived by magic anyway. Or...it would be even more difficult than normal at least. I have a natural resistance to certain magic."
