No well-rested bonus on all three characters when same class.

TLDR: People who play only 1 class for all 3 characters don't receive well rested on all 3 characters, thus they receive about 1/3 the bright engrams as player's who play all 3 classes. Therefore they don't get as many cosmetic items. In my opinion, this is a bug. I don't know if you are aware of this or not Bungie, all I want to do is bring this to your attention and help you understand the reason why it is an unfair situation. But I have 3 of the same class for all my characters, and I am not receiving the well-rested bonus all 3 of my characters, although my friends are receiving it on all their characters (they have one of each class). My thoughts are that this is a side effect from how power engrams work when you have 3 of the same class (which I have no qualms with). But this problem with the well-rested bonus is something that is unfair. And if I am misinformed about people receiving it on all 3 characters, please let me know and then ignore this. Why is it unfair? Bright engrams, are for the most part, cosmetic. Yes, I know you can receive mods from them. But if you receiving mods on any class is the same as receiving it on any other class. This is not like receiving powerful gear on 3 hunters vs 3 different classes. So, having 3 of the same class, you receive on 3 bright engrams from well-rested rather than the 9 from 3 different classes. And receiving 1/3 of the bright engrams means 1/3 of the cosmetic items. Is it my fault for not playing the 3 classes? No, its not. It is my choice to play the same class, yes. And I understand and am okay with being at a slight disadvantage with how powerful gear is rewarded (the disadvantage is players with the 3 classes receive more 300 weapons than a person with 3 characters of the same class). I am okay with that. That is Bungie making sure no one is being unfairly rewarded for playing a certain way (being able to reach max power faster). What I do have a problem with is being unintentionally, if I understand the situation correctly, punished for having 3 of the same class. (And I do know I am in a very small minority of players) Yes, I know I am complaining about cosmetic items that have no impact on gameplay. But since some, if not all cosmictic items are gonna be available on a seasonal basis, it poses a disadvantage to players who play 3 of the same class in allowing them to earn all the cosmetics at the same rate as those who play all 3 classes. If you have made it this far, thank you for reading. Please share your thoughts on the subject, and if I am misinformed about the well rested bonus, let me know.

  • This is working as intended. Bungie didn't want people just playing 3 characters of the same class to speed up level and gear progression. Not only do you not get the well rested buff but powerful engrams from the milestones are nerfed for the other two characters. In other words there is no benefit to playing with three identical characters, None. Roll one of each classes and you won't have to worry about it. Just curious but why 3 of the same class, what's your reasoning for doing it?
