"Well.. certainly don't be late for training. Since you are a recruit, you will be training with the officers for some time, though..
...We can skip that, if you like. You seem to be beyond simple training, to say the least."
Freya smiled a little, at that.
"Armoring will be awaiting you once you are promoted. If you have any abilities, I can lead you to a Libertas tend and get you a Libertas to both boost yourself and enable your powers in the barrier. Civilians are not to be harmed, nor are prisoners of war.."
Odd, since one thief had turned up without a hand and branded. Perhaps Freya was trying to keep her composure.
"...That should be it. Standard things. I think you'll fit in nicely, though I should catch your name.."

"Asami Vernal, or just Vernal, I hate my first name." She grinned, internally she flared with anger at the mention of prisoners of war. "Wish I had abilities though, metalmancy has always interested me. But that'll never happen most likely." She shrugged then, acting cheery. "And yeah, I can handle myself. I don't carry this weapon for no reason-" She patted her gladius, attached in a sheath on her right leg. In truth it wad far more than just a simple short sword.
-
Freya would study the weapon for a few seconds, before nodding in approval. "Hmm. Niki could help with the metalmancy, whenever she has the spare time. Glad to meet you though, Vernal. I suppose that I will be seeing you tomorrow?"
-
"If it means some kind of cool power and a shot at making money again, since my last job got squished by artillery, then yeah, I'll be here tomorrow." She beamed then, a truthful one, not excited for working for the people she hated, but metalmancy? Hell yeah.
-
"Good, then." Freya would depart, soon enough, for the council. ((Timeskip? I'll have Niki help Rose with everything, since the outcome of the council is unknown.))

(Yessssssssssssssssssssssssh)
-
((Alright)) In the morning, Rose would find an opportunity to continue her plan: the garrison's gateway opened, as the young woman from before would walk out, passing the barrier as she then waited for.. someone. Likely, Rose. Rose hadn't caught her name, but it seemed like she would be helping.
-
Deciding now was a good time, Rose went to meet with the woman.
-
As Rose would approach, the silver-headed girl would look up, giving her a slight wave. Up close, her features were a little more distinguishable than from the night before. She was pale - pretty in a regal manner, but pale, her body maintaining a certain thinness, certainly not with athleticism backing it. She was bounded within violet and white robes, while a yellow-gold lion rested upon the back of the article of clothing. Lime green eyes studied Rose as she approached, as she then stood and delivered a bow. "Good morning, my lady. You are Lady Vernal, yes?" In her hands was an odd circular object, with a dark ink-like substance within, accompanied by a sharpened pen object.
-
"Yeah, I am. Was told to find you about getting a gift." She looked up, Rose's own features seemed a lot sharper now, a strong jaw accompanied a chiseled face, short pixie cut hair and silver eyes. Internally, she was eager beyond comparison to get metalbending, she couldn't deny that it made her so ecstatic she could forget the past wrong doings from the group, but she knew she couldn't, her friends where mutilated and tortured, and that wasn't something she would forget.
-
"Ah, the metalmancy rune and the Libertas? Here, try this on." The young woman wouldn't wait for Rose to accept nor deny, as she capped the lid, pocketing the pen as she began to fit a ring onto Rose's finger. "There, my lady. Keep it in care, please. As for metalmancy.. I will have to apply a rune. Is that alright?"
-
"Yeah, go ahead. My guess is etched into my skin? Hate that stuff, but its fine, I can handle it" She looked the ring over, getting a good look at it before returning her gaze to Niki.
-
"Yes.. a rune. Wherever you'd like it to be, my lady. Though I'd prefer if the placement was.. well, not too close to any.. assets." Rose would hopefully catch onto what Niki was saying. She didn't seem all too comfortable, drawing a rune upon the woman's bust or something of the sort.
-
"On my left arm, just below the tattoo. What else can you do with the runes?" She offered her left arm then, an ace of spades on her shoulder. No sleeve needed to be rolled up, Rose's attire being sleeveless.
-
"Hmm.. care to emphasize on that? Sorry, just.. concentrating." Niki would say, as she studied the ideal spot for the rune to be engraved. She motioned for Rose to follow her, to the inside of the garrison: likely taking her to a better spot.
-
"I mean like what other things can you do with the runes?" She followed, overly eager to have this all done.
-
"Hmm. These runes can be steadily upgraded, and additional runes can be added. Though.. I would stick to your metalmancy, for the time. Secondary runes tend to be weaker than the original.. worse, there are accounts of bearers hallucinating, even going mad, from the magic draining away their senses. Magic is both a beauty and terror - a destroyer in most cases." Niki would bring Rose into her tent, setting the woman down onto a wooden chair. "Your metalmancy will rely on touching your targets firsthand, then bending away. Larger objects will take more time, though in reality, only milliseconds. Perhaps two seconds for a full, heavy sheet of steel, or titanium. Do be careful with it.."
-
"I mean, I can reshape a majority of the world as I see fit. Of course I would have to be careful." She gave a weak chuckle, offering her arm when needed. The thought of more runes was tempting, but the warning made her wary of it.
-
"You can. It's a very powerful ability, but.. I trust you." Niki would smile, before holding the portion of Rose's arm, placing the sharpened pen underneath the tattoo. "Ready?"
-
"Yeah, go ahead." She nodded then, ready for the pain to hit her.
-
Niki nodded, beginning to engrave into Rose's skin. The pen's tip sliced open the woman's skin underneath, as blood began to drip like thin waterfalls. When Niki was done, a triangular shape was formed - straight and simple, with three lines from each corner meeting a dot in the center. There, she took the oily substance from before, and dipped her finger into the dot. "Cato autem infirma." Niki murmured, as a steel grey energy surged throughout Rose's arm. It looked as if it had cracked her skin, surging throughout her veins, before fading away. "...Use this as a test." Niki placed a small metal ball into Rose's hand.
Translation - "The flesh is weak". Yes, I used Google, lol.
-
Kek, lol
Watching the magic in a bout of fear and awe, she tom a second to actually take the metal item. She wasn't sure it actually worked, but assumed it did, and took the metal in both hands. Smearing like clay, she flattened it, then made a rod, watching it all in disbelief. It actually worked, and she couldn't believe what her eyes where seeing.
-
"...It worked. It worked!" Niki would shout out a little, before she would calm down, obviously. "...That was my first rune, sorry.. and it was successful, too. Though.. now I know that I can draw runes properly. And now you're even more capable.. this is exciting."
-
"I can agree, yeah. Thanks, Niki!" Rose stood then, ecstatic as she started forming the metal into random items, before making it clamp around her arm over the rune.
-
"I guess the clamp hides it. The runes look weird, but.. hey, cool powers. So.. if you don't mind me asking, what got you interested in joining? Not just cool powers, right?"
-
"I have other reasons, but a cool power I didn't expect when I wanted to join. Mostly needed a decent source of in come, and wanted some action."
