It's already been said, but if you didn't play D1, you just won't know what's no longer there. I didn't get in at D1 alpha/beta, but I was an early adopter still. It had its issues, but there was something there, that intangible X factor that kept people coming back. From a technical standpoint, D2 is great, game runs and functions how it's supposed to. Its the drastic shift in design philosophy that has people bumming. If you played D1 now, you'd notice some minor gameplay differences. But things like the quest log to the vault setup and other functionality should've been in there. Don't see why those QoL things are gone. That's not even touching the static rolls/PvP balance/loot and token system/subclass customization/general reward economy that were so different that it changed the soul of the game. I'm glad you don't know and enjoy it, but I went back to D1 until/unless they make some substantial revisions to the substantial revisions they made.
