Ainsley grinned; the thrill of combat never failed to excite him, despite the rather... dire situation at hand.
He sidestepped left once more, to the spearman’s right, managing to avoid the attack primarily due to them coming from the same direction.
The only difference was that this time, Ainsley grabbed onto the (presumably) metal spear’s pole with his right hand, sending electricity coursing through its material, hoping it would be conductive.

Well, shit. The shaft of the spear was not metal, but instead stiff wood. If anything, the electricity would conduct into the spearhead, though that would be minuscule, not doing much damage if any. I guess that's how it would work. Since the dudebro's got leather gauntlets (is leather a conducter? Fuсk if I know) and the dudebro Ainsley touched wood.

He quickly tried to make up for lost time by continuously gripping the spear so it would be more difficult to impale him with it as he attempted to punch the metal chestplate of the spearwielder, once again charging his punch up with whatever electricity he could muster.
