Hi dear community,
I roughly think that the most of the people that "hate" out there, without any single constructive feedback, about the DLC (or the raid lairs) know what it actually takes to develop such a big ass raid.
Like have you done well coded programming before? Modelling? Animating? Sound effects? Mapping?
I'm not trying to defend this game, it's more that I wanna say that you should think about the people behind the game, in the studios. They're just normal people like you and me and they use their time to develop you guys something to play, have fun and enjoy. And after that they get hated to death with nonsense hating? How would you feel as a developer? And obviously it's gonna cost you something, would you code hundreds of hours, if not even thousands of hours for free?
As a developer myself, I can tell you, it's not easy, it takes a damn lot of time and effort. And after that we'd love a "thank you" instead of a "f**k you".
Not saying you should love the game completely after this, but understand the work that has been put in.
This had to be said: At least some respect to the developers, designers & co. would be appreciated, instead of all the braindead-hating. Everyone has their opinion, but think about it, before shouting it.
Thank you for your time
Lots of love for the community & the workers
Don Diablo

What people forget is Activision has Bungie by the balls. They are on the verge of losing the company. The studio leads screwed over the rest of the studio by scrapping everything months before projected release and asking for an extension. Now the company is trying to catch up to the release schedule they set in stone. Why aren’t these people pointing fingers and complaining about the other two studios hired to help Bungie with development of D2? Or complaining to Activision about PVP. Activision buys MLG and then shortly after they have a MLG Crucible exhibition broadcast. Seems like they really wanted to push Destiny towards the MLG scene. Wouldn’t be surprised if Bungie had to compromise the design of Crucible in D2 when they asked Activision for another extension on shipping D2. Shaping it to be as MLG as possible. Release what’s “acceptable” and let the Live Team and a Design Lead with the most free time polish the game between DLCs while everyone else and two other studios are grinding away so that they don’t lose their company.

"People don't get what it takes to create new stuff (Development)" Adults do, kids dont... thats all there is to say. Really sick and tired of al the salt and crying posts on this forum.

Lots of love to all the game devs out there. You guys rock without you guys my post traumatic stress disorder would be 100 times worse. Video games are a type of medicine to me. Also have done dev work in the past. Wasnt easy at all. So ya. Its very appreciated what you guys and girls all do for us. Thanks a ton to all of you. If anyone wants to add me on psn to play Destiny 2 with me go ahead please. I don't have many people on ever and I just play to have fun. Akura555 is my PSN. Anyhow would love to do the raid sometime as I have barely done anything in it.

Edited by RavenousLD3341: 11/17/2017 12:39:54 AMIt's true most people have no clue. Took me 8 months to build a NAC. Stardew Valley took Concerned Ape 5 years Took me a day to build a flappy bird clone. AN ENTIRE DAY. Took 4 hours to build a chat room. I haven't even tried tackling anything 3d.
-
Most of the haters on these forums are little kids and I'm not surprised they don't know anything about game development.
-
I agree with you. Unimportant how often I explain people the difficulty of programing and developmement... They won't understand it.
-
Couldn't agree more. Unfortunately these forums have devolved into children spewing nonsense. So I just can't take the complaints seriously anymore.

Edited by SolarCerberuS: 11/17/2017 12:20:27 AMWell said, sadly many never will understand what it takes to create a game, its not just slapped together over a few weeks like it seems some things take alot of planning, prep, and excecution, across many fields followed by bug testing. Hell those reskins many are complaining about take longer than creating the mesh its wrapped around, they are not 2d flat textures, there is also alpha, bump and glow mapping. Dynamic textures and effects etc. The models (mesh) themselves are often the easy and quickest part to create and makes sense to reuse as the rigging and collision coding is already done for it.

Nice post but it will fall on deaf ears on this forum full of toxic teenagers that have never worked a day in their lives and have had everything handed to them by mommy and daddy.
-
Hell yeah dude. You’re about to get a lot of salt yourself for this very reasonable and well intentioned post, unfortunately. Hope you have some popcorn and butter my dude. ✌️

Agreed. Some people just don't understand the time it takes to develop things. It requires so many different stages from concept, prototyping, testing and iterating to more testing. Bungie have said so themselves that it takes roughly 3 months to develop an adventure. That should hopefully give some context on how long it would take to develop a whole raid. You also can't expect them to add or change features overnight. You can change one thing in one place and completely break something somewhere else.
-
You understand these dlc were already created with d2 right? They cut them from the game to force us into paying another $40. I'm not cool with this crap.
-
Who cares how much time effort work is put into something if it's a failure. You don't hear the people who built the pinto cry about all the hate they got for building one of the worst cars ever. If your end product is crap and a failure to it's customers then the time and effort into making that crap doesn't save you you from the reality of the crap job you did. Why do you snowflakes try defending incompetence? Bungie is a dead horse. This game is a train wreck.

Diablo me.

When it comes to a job that you get paid to do then there doesn't need to be praise. I don't get a thank you from my boss at the end of the day if I've worked hard, I get my paycheck. If I have a bad day at work and don't get anything done, I hear about it from my boss. It's the same thing with this game. It's not like the guys at bungie decided to make this game in their spare time, it's literally what they get paid to do. It's a sub par game, advertised as a triple A title. The customers aren't happy with the product they purchased and are voicing their opinion. Giving praise for a shit effort doesn't help anyone, it just makes them think they did well and can do it over and over again.
-
That’s what I’ve been saying, it’s insane to expect a whole new raid as big as leviathan every 4 months D1 gave us 3 raids & 1 mini raid in 3 years D2 is giving us 2 raids and 4 mini raids in 2 years, yet people are complaining that they got ripped off
-
Yeah this game sucks. Words from a wise philosopher known as Dabest. The horses really appreciated it all. Last Tuesday was the final time the ponies saw Milkshake at the yard; he moved onto other yards to use his magical powers to help other horses. Thankfully, the ponies still saw their teacher (Milkshake) at cross-country horse events.

Agreed

I advice buy or preorder the game you want with pay pal. Then if it’s really bad just bounce the amount through PayPal they have a 180 day policy if the product is “not as described”. So you buy the game use there severs then take your money back so the intent is for them to spend resources and you get your money back. Maybe next time they wont -blam!- it up. <3 “We are "Anonymous". We are Legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget. Expect us.”
-
Hi Don, I have some magic beans if you're interested.
-
Don’t they get paid for the time they spend coding? Then that’s their choice to be game devs and if they can’t handle the pros and the cons of their job then maybe they are in the wrong career. I’m sure it is upsetting to see their hard work get negative feedback but that’s what happens when you are on a team and even though you may have succeeded doing your part the team still failed or didn’t perform well. That’s life deal with it or move on to something else.
-
I hate D2 because is a trash.

~20 years of game development experience Big franchises like Diablo and Blizzard give suggestions on how to avoid the problems they ran into while developing Literally 4 years straight of constant feedback I don't think I need to go any further. At this point it's a legitimate joke. There are so many excuses for this game and I don't know why. It's literally mind blowing now. People just say keep waiting, keep waiting. For what reason ? They have so much knowledge on what needs to be done but they are constantly taking 1 step forward, 2 steps back. I just don't get it anymore. Not a damn bit of it makes sense.

Edited by contra_reality: 11/18/2017 7:46:32 AMThe issue isn't with the developers but the design philosophers. The developers are just coding what they're told to. I mean the game runs smooth, it looks nice, and the number of geometry glitches is minimal compared to D1. The issue we have isn't with the execution but the plan. The issue is at least one step above. I understand it is easy to blame the driver (developers here) for getting lost but the real issue is the shit directions from Map Quest that the driver's boss provided.

Edited by Nihilus247: 11/18/2017 4:50:02 AMThere have been thousands of posts suggesting ways to improve the game. You must have missed them or maybe you ignored them to help your point. I dont need to know how to build a car to know if it drives well just like I dont need to be a programmer at Bungie to know what's wrong with Destiny 2.
