People don't get what it takes to create new stuff (Development)

Hi dear community, I roughly think that the most of the people that "hate" out there, without any single constructive feedback, about the DLC (or the raid lairs) know what it actually takes to develop such a big ass raid. Like have you done well coded programming before? Modelling? Animating? Sound effects? Mapping? I'm not trying to defend this game, it's more that I wanna say that you should think about the people behind the game, in the studios. They're just normal people like you and me and they use their time to develop you guys something to play, have fun and enjoy. And after that they get hated to death with nonsense hating? How would you feel as a developer? And obviously it's gonna cost you something, would you code hundreds of hours, if not even thousands of hours for free? As a developer myself, I can tell you, it's not easy, it takes a damn lot of time and effort. And after that we'd love a "thank you" instead of a "f**k you". Not saying you should love the game completely after this, but understand the work that has been put in. [b]This had to be said:[/b] At least some respect to the developers, designers & co. would be appreciated, instead of all the braindead-hating. Stop being an apologist. That's like saying "Well it's really hard to be an accountant, so it's not that big of a deal that my accountant lost all my savings. We need to be understanding so STFU."" All the shit that takes time and is difficult such as art and level design, Bungie does very well. It's everything else they -blam!- up. It's pretty obvious you have no experience or you would be aware of this fact. GTFO with that shit. This isn't an excuse. Analyze it all you want man. The fact is a video game needs to be fun and due to Bungie's business decisions ABOUT game design, not game design itself is why the game is not fun anymore.

      I dont dislike employees of Bungie, I dislike a sequel to a really good game being downgraded instead of upgrading what we already had. I am fully aware of what kind of expertise is required to make games, however even morons can put games out there to sell, and then run with the money via Early Access or Kickstarter, and besides we're all human we all make mistakes and at times have poor judgement, so is it impossible to think that maybe a human or two made some poor calls in development? From what I see, most people(at least in Feedback) are doing exactly what you should do, give feedback. Plenty of people have thanked Bungie with words, rather than be content with their previous thank you in the form of purchasing Bungie's game and keeping them employed. I'm getting tired of consumers acting like the employees of a company are their friends because of a purchase of a product/thing.

    • Given that so much of D2 is a retread of D1 - same tired enemies, lame ass armor, reskinned weapons, maps, classes, etc., other than spending resources inmaking the experience worse, where is the evidence of all this hard work on the D2 launch and then same question on these DLCs?

      • This. Creating takes time, skill and commitment and there's still no guarantee anyone will like it. The company and the individuals that form it don't plan to get it wrong, they want to please, to sell, to go home happy and come back to do it again. They're people just like me and you. The abuse strewn across these pages is quite depressing.

            • I hurt that and really appreciate you standing up for the [i]people[/i] at bungie, but they already have assets from 4 years of destiny. Making a new vex raid would be no more difficult than making another cabal raid for them.

            • That’s a AAA studio with over 700 people who generate millions of profit that are funneled into the coffers of share holders. Mainly already rich people whos main online game is allocating offshore funds into new profit generating industries that suck the lifeblood out of those who work for them. (They also evade taxes and corrupt Washington and every other government on the planet so they have always a place to evade taxes or get legislation that makes them tax exempt.) At least I want “bread and games” if I have to live like a slave.

                Salt Miners greed is stronger than their logic basicly... no worries those are people you often see play backstory roles as drunk loosers who rage at everything, they are the type of person who see the cup as half empty rather than half full and their lives are kinda bleak... They will continue to buy stuff hoping it helps but they won't be able to enjoy it a lot as to begin with they are prone to seeing only the negative... They do not realize if all it took was money then how come Trump cannot pay the world to like him ? They also do not realize threats never produce anything desired in the end... take a look at a typical schoolyard... if one is threatened too much they either crumble and become shy or they do something scary and unpredictable usually against all morals and extremely dangerous... Now imagine working at a sandwich shop... 2 out of 10 customers during your day say they dont like it and rage at you while a 3rd says what he likes or dislikes... if the 3rd persons comment is given a couple times by customers you listen and see if you can adjust based on it but the ragers... why should you care ? if they leave then they left so why should you try to cater to whats not there ? Those that come over and over however and give you kind yet constructive friendly tips alongside saying what they like will be heard... I hope even an imbecile can understand it but i have my doubt with these salt miners...

                • Ummm you do know how big the Bungie staff is right? It's not 30 people its a couple hundred. I can understand your argument if it was 30-40 people, but its not. They pulled the vast majority of the dev team off content for D1 a long time ago. Their core has been working on Destiny 2 for a while and in reality, it looks like they gave most of their staff the time off. This game is a shell of what it was. The economy is a disaster, the game play options are thin and boring. We shouldn't be repeating D1's launch mistakes and adding in new ones in D2. Also I have respect for Devs that listen to their fan base, not think they know what we want or reply back with our data says different. I guess being a PS fan and getting games from Devs that give a damn about their fanbase is what separates me from others.

                  • To bungie thank you for what you made in destiny 2 and the DLC. They look great as a player I've only done a bit of the raid as I found it hard to find the right weapon I like using scouts rifles but found there to my liking but I do try finding the one might help me . The story lines are great best I've ever seen . Was not to keen on the timer on the nightfall but over time I will get used to it . As for clans well not had a good time . But that maybe down to me not sure . Looking forward in seeing a new vex raid in the future I was hoping it would be on this new DLC but ok not this time but I will have a look at the new raid keep up the good story line work top marks for that guys .

                    • They put Year 3 of Destiny 1 together pretty fast, seeing as there wasn't suppose to be a Year 3 in Destiny 1, because Destiny 2 was delayed

                            I get ur point... but folks spend $$ on a product, that is business. if they review it as less that spectacular, that too is business. Saying "thanks" is irrelevant other than at the register/e-commerce portal. Game development is a privileged career choice to possess, the folks doing it have a GREAT opportunity to create for those that are involved in other fields of employment/service. Some by choice, some by circumstances. The expectation of product purchase quality is no different whether it be a Pizza, a Automobile or Health care from a Doctor. Excellence is expected, being realistic is realistic, our world isn't perfect... sometimes you really just get what you paid for. So did we? Some say emphatically... no. I'm meh on that, I wouldve spent the $100 again if given the choice. I'm hooked on this game for what it is. I'll reserve my "thanks" for those that put $$ in my pocket. So Bungie... "your welcome"😃

                            • Im in school currently for modeling. -raises hand- I agree 100% with you. If you all really wanted a complete raid, we would have to wait probably 6-8 months for dlcs. Destiny raids aren't like MMO raids. MMO raids have their mechanics focus solely on bosses and the arenas are mostly cosmetic. Destiny however, is a FPS and Bungie implements challenges to go through to get to the final boss like a dungeon. Thus there is more thought put into creating the environments over bosses than your standard MMO. This results in more work for modeling, rendering, and play testing. (Likely why get some buggy releases on raid days)

                              • Do you know what it takes to be an actor? Make a movie, or a stage play? I bet you have strong opinions on some of them regardless, and wouldn’t hesitate to say when it sucks, based on your previous experience as a consumer of such.

                              • thing is they been working on destiny 2 for years and years , since they all ready had destiny 1 as there template. If this was a new ip game then i think people would be ok about it , but the fact of the matter is this is a sequel to a game that been out for years and years. Destiny 1 had it flaws , but it was fun by the end even vanilla was fun, before the nerfs and all the wierd stuff , but over the years game still was fun , Destiny 2 took all the long term elements from destiny 1 a way and made a boring game . Some us just playing now so do not feel to rip off,

                                The flack this guy is getting for simply stating creating parts of destiny takes time is just astounding. He isn’t saying D2 is perfect just understand that without actually being in the office sitting with developers you have no idea what its like and what it takes to create content for destiny. Im not saying bungie is innocent, there are plenty of aspects that need fixing. I for one appreciate what they have created, and I’m talking destiny in its entirety.
