Kinda looks like all the "developers" responding to your post don't really agree with you. Point is, in today's society, with all the various ways social features are integrated into commerce. If you do a bad job with a product, people are going to let you know how exactly they feel. To quote Adam Orth, "they'll just have to deal with it". I don't agree with it, but that is how society has evolved. You as a developer have the choice to work for these companies or not. But don't cry when things escalate, and don't defend what you know is wrong. The fans shouldn't have to tell you people how to do your job, excuse me, leave positive feedback.
