Very simple.
On PC, press your air move button and jump immediately after. You will “hop” in the direction you are pressing.
This comes in clutch since you don’t need to waste time jumping into the air first. It helps a lot when trying to disengage from your opponent. Those precious milliseconds count.
Once you start doing this you won’t be able to stop.
Not sure if this works on console, if someone can confirm that would be great.

I'm actually trying to "git gud" with Dawnblade. Mostly for style points. One of my more successful competitive games was Armored Core, and the staple of a duel in that game was boosted bunny-hop strafing. The top tree for Dawnblade has a few features that would support that sort of maneuvering for me, it's just a matter of getting the muscle memory going, and finding the right weapons to be using for airborne gunplay. (I miss my Icarus guns). Ironically, now that we don't have Icarus guns, we now have the Legend of "Acrius" Shotgun. (Acrius is a scrambled spelling of Icarus).
