Factions: The Warrior's Requiem

The Warrior's Requiem is an ancient and archaic band of characters living under the growing shadow of the Jaeger-8 Working Party and constantly staying moving from base to base and keeping a low profile, so as to not bring the war to a sudden start. Their homes are built in installations that use thrusters and counterweights to perpetually keep it pulling upwards and downwards to counteract the lack of gravity, and are modeled after Old Earth castles and fortresses, only buffered with ion cannons protruding from the turrets of the barbican and reflective shielding protecting the keeps. The Requiem follows an old, ancient and timeless decree once spoken to the stars by a long-gone civilization from which time began, the burial ground of this place where Jaeger-8 now rests. After the destruction of their civilization by an indomitable force, they migrated to the Dojo as huddled refugees and lived there. However, they faced persecution and were later expelled from the walls of the Dojo due to political injustice, even after hundreds of years of living there. However, their doctrines were kept and followed for the entirety of the exodus and living in their new home, remembering the majesty of their old civilization. However, when they began their emigration from the Dojo back to their old home, they found a new civilization sprouting there, with the ugly name of Trigon burned into its forehead. The Requiem's religion is old and sacred, and those who fail to follow it, regardless of age, gender or well-being, is cast away into the cold embrace of space. They take herbal remedies rationed from their old civilization, and use them sparsely and only for the creation of new life. The youngling ingests these toxic spices; those who die from their potency are too weak to be part of the Requiem, and those who survive gain unnatural powers and mutations that were discovered in a golden age of their civilization. These abilities are honed and refined for all their lives until they become great warriors. However, they are also trained in the ways of the blade, the bow, and the tongue, as the Requiem considers all three to be equally potent abilities. The Warrior's Requiem dons themselves in unusual armor with amiable properties, groaning and moaning in anguish with pulsating blow lights and a corona surrounding it at all times. This is because it is biotechnical; it is made from the recycled remains of Warriors lost to feeble birth, like the children of the Requiem, or valiant warriors who gave their lives in battle against any threats harming the system of Jaeger-8. In one respect, this is spiritually sound and a way of paying gratitude to fallen comrades and aiding current soldiers with their power; in the more practical one, it is cost-efficient. In terms of armaments, the Warriors carry claymores imbued with inherent lightning coursing through and across the blades, as well as powerful compound bows that are made with plasma-coolant structure that increases velocity greatly. But the Requiem always teaches that these resorts are only for times in which conflict cannot be resolved with peace and pleasantries. In terms of their outlook, the Requiem sees Jaeger-8 as the center of the universe, a place of convergence for great power with shards of their great civilization still embedded in the great astroids of the system. They also believe that there are great forces conspiring, languishing in deep space and waiting for a moment of weakness, as well as cancers within the system waiting to compromise its sanctity. The Requiem views The Working Party as one of these cancers, and remain on the defensive yet uphold their intentions of destroying the Trigon Corporation and the army behind it. When it comes to The Marauders, the Requiem sees them as little more than disturbances, yet necessary parts of living and lets them pick away at unsuspecting traders, as long as the don't disturb the peace and work against the integrity of the system. While they have broad objectives, every warrior is free to choose where and when he fights until called upon by one of their elders. The rest of the time they can be seen guarding civilian sectors and strategic points in the part of the colony they control. They will stop at nothing to protect their system from any threat and are unrepentant in their beliefs.
