"Alright, I know a place just a few minutes away."
Most people would have just walked down to a coffee place nearby, although with all the Trayven soldiers and Dojoville civilians that now were forced to mingle, Aveline knew full well the kind of chaos that would usually go down in a place. So she got into her car - well, truck - alongside Freya and drove the two about fifteen minutes east, where she pulled up in front of a smaller coffee place. Not too busy and rather quaint, she knew it would at the least help Freya relax.

The smaller place did calm Freya a little, while she was particularly silent for the trip. Other than playing with the radio, questioning the car's functions, and randomly asking Aveline about how a tank looked. Freya couldn't get her mind off of being militaristic and curious. "This is nice," She would say, looking upon the place with the workings of a comfortable smile. She would allow Aveline to take the lead, since she was foreign to cafés and such - coffee, not so much.

Aveline approached the counter and ordered a double double (two milk, two sugar, I don't know what Americans call it) from the employee behind the counter, and a small chocolate chip muffins for herself. She allowed Freya to pick out her own drink and food, then proceeded to pay for it through a credit card (which nobody in Dojo ever uses), and she sat at a window table with Freya.

Freya, meanwhile, had simply gotten a cappuccino and some small, chocolate cookies in a package, sitting down as she sipped her drink. She sighed, though in a more relaxed manner, nodding towards Aveline. "Thank you. I'll have to remember this place later on, whenever we return. In roughly a week from now, we'll have to move out for some time: war efforts and such."
-
"Well you still have a week to go, don't worry about it."
-
"A week and roughly a thousand troops to prepare, yes. So.. how long have you resided at the Dojo, if at all? Seems.. way too hectic to even reside in. I've already had to fight off fire monsters, tentacle monsters, and Dojo members that pick fights with my own men."
-
"Honestly I'm not in the Dojo, for the most part. My friends and I all rent an apartment in... Lumen Solis, though since the cowboy's out here usually, we all kind of come out here once or twice a week." Aveline made it clear that "Lumen Solis" wasn't her place of residence, though she did keep her ties to Extryte tucked away for the time being. Truthfully she lived offworld, preferring to stay in Canada out on Earth, although she did admit to not living in the Dojo. "And yeah, I agree. The Dojo needs to calm down a bit."
-
Freya seemed to understand, instead politely nodding towards Aveline when she mentioned Lumis. She knew not to pry into details like a mantis would tear into a bug's shattering shell - such inquisitive behavior usually lead to a more negative situation. "Ah, I understand. Though from what I see, it just seems like it's.. Tatakai, really. Perhaps it's just the Dojo in general, I can't recall how many times I've heard "It's the Dojo" from citizens and warriors alike. Though it is an excitement, nonetheless. Nothing to enjoy when lives are on the line, but.. fun, almost. I take that you aren't a direct combatant?"
-
"Oh, no no no. I'm a... Detective, of sorts. Not exactly registered, although I work with a couple of people." The Marshals didn't exactly act like a traditional detective group - Inquiring and following leads was Aveline's role usually, then she would hand over the information to Derek or, god forbid, JT, while passing information on between Benny and Gloria - though she did prefer to keep out of a combative role when possible. Not to say she hadn't seen a few fights in her life, though she tended to let the cowboy and the crimson dragon handle the big things. "Though I do find myself in a few scraps here and there."
-
"A detective. That's a first, to be terribly honest.. you aren't looking into my particularly dull pastimes and personal troubles, are you?" The joke was intended to be sarcastic, although Freya made it seem genuine, outside of the beginning smile that began to cross upon that lightly freckles face. It was a joke nonetheless, but it was a slight concern.[/]

"Heh," Aveline chuckled, taking a sip from the cup in front of her. She supposed that her nature did seem rather inquisitive and intrusive at times. "No, I'm not probing you for info or anything."
