Did rise of iron happen?
There's plenty of references to roi, shaxx's comment, siva references, some small talk of efrideet, but why does it seem like we weren't a part of it? We became iron lords, so saladin should at least acknowledge us as the new generation right? Or mention efrideet? Or talk about our work on Siva? Shiro? Tyra karn conveniently forgot us, did saladin too?
Edit: I know it is referenced in the game by shaxx and ghost, my question is more specifically "How much of roi actually happened?"

There is no mention of Efrideet because she technically hasn't been an iron lord since she left them just after the first siva crisis. Theres no mention of shiro yet because he had been moved from the temple to mercury to monitor the vex and any of Osiris's movements. The most likely reason that tyra "forgot us" is because she isn't a significant character in d2, by any means, so we don't get to see much of what she has to say. And siva happened because theres a voice line for ghost on nessus where siva is mentioned and he talks about how terrible it would be if it came back.

5 RepliesNothing happened! In your first mission, going to the shard your ghost states " they are called the fallen, some kind of scavenger race". If we don't recognize the fallen, we never did anything.

The SIVA crisis is documented in several ghost scans: https://www.destinypedia.com/Ghost_Scans#/media/File%3AEDZ-TL-1.PNG Bungie seems to have tried to briefly reference D1 actions but keep most of D2 accessible to new players so there aren't too many unknown references to them. I know some dialogue in the game varies if you are a new vs old player but it is pretty limited.

2 RepliesFocused on new players. Which is why we got reintroduced to all the enemies. D1 vets get a nod now and again...but it's mainly about the newbies and (I hate the term, but it's true) the casuals. But hey.....at least we got Failsafe out of it. I'm planning on joining Calus, but if he kills Failsafe.....his ass is grass.

They mention that you took out the black garden in the story of d1 because that was part of the vanilla D1 story. For the dumb people.[spoiler]vanilla-the original game, withought a dlc.[/spoiler]

1 ReplyYes, but here's the thing about Rise of Iron. It was rushed into development while D2 got delayed, this means that someone may have forgotten to update text or change voice lines while trying to integrate it into the story.
