"Pleased to meet you."
-
"You too."
-
"So what brought you to the bar rather than one in the village?"
-
"Didn't feel like frying half the bar patrons. Not as many crazies up here. I was supposed to be meeting a friend, too, but I guess she had some shit to take care of."
-
"Who? I might know her."
-
"Lycoris T'Loak. She's an Asari."
-
"Oh. Yeah I don't know her."
-
"I'm surprised. Not like Asari are common, let alone ones that love throwing people through walls as much as she does. But whatever." She orders another drink. "So, what brings you here?"
-
"Meet people, that's all. Plus other things associated with it."
-
"Hm... I take it one of those 'other things' totally doesn't involve someone dragging you back to their place, right?"
-
"Might. Might involve me coming willingly too."
-
"Eh. Kinda what I meant."
-
"Oh. Well, you're right."
-
"Surprise, surprise... People like you are all too common- not that I'm complaining. I do the same shit half the time anyways."
-
"Go to a bar to flirt?"
-
"Among other things. Don't have anything better to do right now besides drink. If some hot chick decides to show up, it's always a plus. And if anything comes of it, all the better."
-
"Fair point. Speaking of drinks, what's yours?"
-
"Some sort of whiskey. I dunno exactly. Just told 'em to give me something strong. This is what they came up with."
-
"Ah, alright."
-
She downs her drink. "You have any family?... I hear the amnesiac or orphan story a lot more than someone who had a somewhat normal life, so I kinda have to ask."
-
"It's a... Long story. My sister is in Vegas right now and my dad works on Tatakai, though."
-
"Least you have someone. Me? I grew up on the streets of NYC. No mother. No father. Just more and more dumbass street gangs. It was either join one or life was... exceptionally shitty. I'd end up joining one for awhile, then getting sick of their shit and deciding to kill 'em all. Some other fućkers would hear what happen, get me to join, then the cycle would repeat. I lost count of how many times. Honestly, I probably dealt with more murderers and robbers than half the NYPD. And that's... extremely ironic coming from someone like me."
-
"...Damn."
-
"Yeah, it wasn't exactly fun. But, shit got interesting later. And now, looking back, there's not much I regret. Hell, if I'd've had a normal life, I would've just been some normal kid with a few mental issues- well, until my powers manifested, anyways. Then I would've probably tried to do the same shit, but without what was essentially a little over two decades of training. Probably woulda ended getting myself killed. So, for how shit's turned out, I honestly probably got one of the better possible beginnings, ridiculous as that sounds."
