Lyn nodded and laughed at the tall comment. Artemis sighed at the comment about her ears however and shook her head.
"No, it's not. My race is a bunch of werewolves practically...except for me. I can't transform. Don't ask because I don't know and it still somewhat annoys me."

That made sense.. He guessed? The contractees were nice, but he still might want to choose his words carefully. A werewolf... Ish? And a swords woman. One wrong move could have him in flesh ribbons. "I guess I'll go first, then. My name is Tyrian, Monk of Tyral. I come from what I've learned this place calls the uncharted islands. I hope to hone my spells here." He stuck out his hand to the pair for them to introduce themselves. His physique was that of a human who worked out well, but had not the time to add muscle, but rather define the meat he had on him. A life in the mountains will do it for you.
-
Lyn shook his hand with confidence and a strong grip. "Lyndis, but everyone calls me Lyn. I'm a monster and demon hunter. Currently, I'm doing this just to let out steam." Arty then shook the man's hand with a bit more of a casual hold. "Artemis. I just enjoy hunting and Lyn is a friend...ish of mind. We know each other a little."
-
"Well, it's good to meet both of you. But before we start..." He gestured his hand outwards, almost as a modest shrug. He then quickly spoke. "What's this... 'Reward' you're talking about? Money? Power? I'd love to help out of the kindness of my own heart, but I'm not putting my life on the line for it."
-
Artemis shrugged and nodded. "I get it. Don't worry, the mission isn't too threatening as long as you don't do anything stupid. The reward is the corpses of blood hounds. Parts of their body can be sold for a pretty decent price around here."
-
"A pretty penny, huh?" Admittedly, the corpses excited him more, as flesh was usually brought, and too much would cost him a fortune for his experiments. "Alright, I'll take you up on that offer, where are we headed?"
-
Lyn gestured to a forest not far from where they were standing now. "Over there." The trees were hundreds of feet tall and incredibly thick with large branches and leaves. The branches were visibly thick enough for people to run on even from this distance.
-
"Hm... Alright, I'll follow your lead, you probably know them better than I do." Tyrian gestured for the pair to move in front of him so that he knew exactly where he was going. Just the forest wasn't enough to tell him where the dogs were.
-
"I am the tracker. Without me you'd never find them...." Artemis stated as she turned to leave, Lyn following her closely. "I guess you're not wrong." Lyn commented.
-
"And I'd never get my reward! The whole trip would be a bust, a shame! But alas! You are here!" He followed the pair with the same grin, this time showing his teeth. Along they went, and he hummed a strange tune, one of highs and lows. The tune of a snake charmer, found once upon the old earth. He seemed to skip along with the group, giddy with excitement.
-
~~~~~~Sometime later~~~~~~~ The trio had arrived at the forests and were already a good distance in before Artemis jumped up onto a branch randomly. "Alright, we should start climbing. Some of the beasts out here aren't exactly friendly and it'll be easier to spot the hounds from up here."
-
"Hm..." Tyrian thought for a moment, before deciding that trying to climb the tree while holding his staff was useless. So instead, he pointed it at the ground, and a gust of wind launched him fourth feet in the air to the fight branch he could reach. "Alright, though don't expect me to be too fast with this stuff..." -
"Take your time." Artemis leaped up the whole tree in a single bound somehow. Lyn however had to climb branch by branch.
-
Deciding that wasting his magical ability now would be a bad move, he chose to follow the sword woman's example, scaling the tree with little effort. Climbing the mountains was harder. With his staff on his back, there was little to deter him from acting monkey-like, and soon reaching the top. "C'mon, Lady! That wolf is gonna beat us!"
-
Artemis was already at the top, sitting impatiently when Lyn and the mage finally got all the way up. "Took you two long enough, slowpokes." Artemis said, laughing.
-
"Hey! For a normal human, I did good!" Tyrian crossed his arms and looked across the dense forest, frowning for once at its sheer size and darkness. "Say, you got that scent? We're gonna need it... Well, that and a way out too."
-
Artemis sighed and nodded. "Just because I'm a wolf girl doesn't mean I have a scent....But I do have the scent. I also know the way out because I live in this forest."
-
"Ah! Then that works out perfect. Just... Don't leave us behind, yeah?" He pulled the staff off of his back, and out of the robes that he tied it up in so it wouldn't fall. It might be a useful glancing tool on the smaller branches.
-
"Fiiine! Let's go." Artemis started heading out, jumpiiing tree to tree. Lyn attempted to follow.
-
"Tch. Dang Wolf gonna leave us behind. Lyn! Keep up if you can!" Tyrian began jumping as well, though there was an obvious lack of speed and power behind them compared to Artemis. What he did have was balance, landing on every branch and stabilizing himself in seconds.
-
Lyn kept right behind Tyrian, easily keeping up with his speed. Artemis stopped running ahead after already almost being out of sight. "Why so slow?!" "Because not all of us are wolf girls!"
-
"Maybe you should slow yourself down a bit, yeah? I'm working up a sweat, and I haven't seen a monster anywhere..." It was true, too much excessive and jumping around would tire anyone out. That said, he also needed to save his energy for the fight ahead.
-
Artemis sighed and nodded. "Sorry, I forget not everyone can run around like I can." "Have to try and be more considerate, Arty." Lyn wasn't tiring much, despite the fact she couldn't move as fast as Artemis she had the endurance.
-
"Mhm... The real question is when those monsters are coming out. I have time, but I'd hope to get hope before dark. Take a nap." Tyrian shrugged, and leap from beach to beach to catch up to the now stopped Artemis.
-
Artemis observed her surroundings before turning back to the man. "Shouldn't be much further. No worries, you'll be home in time for dinner, my friend."
-
"Let's hope monster meat tastes good..." Tyrian grumbled to himself, most of the trip had been climbing and jumping. Nothing fun enough for his taste.
1500/1500 mana, 200 restored.
