"Blood hounds. About 6 feet tall, shoot fire, and don't stay dead for long unless you kill the alpha. The alpha is about twice the size and basically just shoots even more fire. We have to get the alpha before we can start withering down the numbers of the smaller guys."
Artemis explained, Lyn already climbing up the tree.

“...We’re...not on Tatakai?” Cain asked, scratching his head as he slipped his spear on to his back.
-
Lyn looked as confused as Cain. "Artemis, what're you talking about?" Artemis sighed again. "This is where my people come from. It's an entire world full of creatures that just want to murder everything. We got here by going through a little screw up in space time that I found on Tatakai. Just so happened the trees in the area looked the same. I didn't think it mattered." "Of course it matters!"

-
"It's like those portals that mages make, but natural...kinda." Arty replied, beginning to sound annoyed. "Can we just go?" "This isn't something you just forget about, Artemis." Lyn grunted in frustration and began to walk back the way they came. "We should go before who knows what comes after us."
-
“Hold on.” Cain started, confusion clearly coursing through his words. “Why did we come here? I...we’re not on Tatakai, I mean, so what was the point exactly?”
-
Artemis shrugged. "Lyn told me she wanted to hunt something for fun and to let off some steam." Lyn nodded, turning to Cain. "Cain, not everything we do has to be saving people or anything like that. Sometimes you have to take time to enjoy life."
-
“I...see. So this was a warm up then?”
-
Both of the girls groaned before Lyn answered Cain. "No, Cain. This wasn't a warm up to go do something else. If anything it was a cooldown."
-
Cain rubbed the back of his head awkwardly, remaining silent after the explanation.
-
Arty walked over and patted his back. "You still confused about something?"
-
“Yes, But I doubt I’ll be able to figure it out even if you were to try and explain it.” The white haired man answered. “It’s fine. As long as we get back okay.”
-
"Figured." Artemis once again began to head back the way they came. "At least you know we should leave."
-
Cain was silent after this, letting the two girls take the lead as he started to scrape the dried blood from his hands.
-
"Is the killing done? How sad..." The shotgun spoke up again, the voice sounding more pleasant and feminine than before. "I was enjoying myself."
-
“You made that very clear.” Cain said. “How is it that you can talk anyways? And why didn’t you talk until now? I have had you in my possession for the last three months...”
-
"Has it been three months? I didin't know. Maybe if you used me I'd talk more...unless maybe I'm in need of repair. Sorry, owner. I appear to not be in prime condition. I have several systems failing actually." The AI replied.
-
“How So?” The man inquired.
-
"I'm not sure. Maybe it is due to age? All I know is that a few types of ammunition are offline as well as my motion scanner, holographics, mapping, and several other features. You should get me to a weaponsmith as soon as possible."
-
“I’ll make sure to stop by Tiekal when we get back to the dojo, then.” Cain told Vicky.
-
Edited by Stitch: 11/30/2017 6:29:23 PM"The name is Vicky, by the way. I'm here to serve you the best I can until you either pass me along to someone else or someone kills you and takes me....Let's hope the second one doesn't happen."
-
Edited by Inflatablepants: 11/30/2017 9:09:54 PM“Agreed.” Cain said to her.
-
"I'd prefer not to change owners until I at least get fixed." Lyn stared at the gun with a worried look as they walked. "You sure that gun isn't going to kill you in your sleep, Cain?"
-
“I’ll be pointing the barrel away from my body I think.” Cain told Lyn as he looked around.
-
The sky was beginning to darken and considering they were at the bottom of such large and thick trees, there wasn't a lot of light. It began getting rather hard to see where they were going. "F*ck..." Artemis mumbled. "I wanted to get away before it got dark."
-
“Why is that?” Cain asked her. “Besides the fact that it would be dark.”
