Arty stopped giggling and stared at Cain with a raised brow.
"I-It's a joke....It's a joke, Cain. Where did you g-"
"He's not the best socially yet...we're working on it."
Lyn cut off Artemis to reply, while patting Cain's back again.

Cain bowed his head, disappointed. “I’m sure it was funny...”
-
"Aw, it's okay, buddy." Artemis tried to cheer up Cain with a grin. "Not your fault you don't get social stuff fully. You'll get better, I'm sure."
-
Cain nodded, before his eyes became filled with purpose. “I think we have things to kill, right?”
-
"Right." The two woman said in unison before beginning to walk. "Onwards!" Lyn declared as they'd hop tree to tree while looking out for the giant alpha Artemis had described.
-
Cain would follow suit, his nigh religious physical training kicked in as he easily hopped across the trees, keeping pace with the two girls.
-
Lyn and Cain easily stayed together, but Artemis was darting around at an inhuman pace, constantly ahead of them and scouting. "The hell is up with wolf girl?" Lyn whispered to Cain.
-
“She’s your friend isn’t she? How am I supposed to know?!” Cain asked back.
-
"I don't know her that well!" Lyn replied back, sighing. "Let's just be glad she's helping us..." ~~~~~Small time skip~~~~ They'd eventually reach what looked like a large clearing ahead, the sounds of barking and snarling heard from in front of them.
-
“I think we have run into our prey...” Cain spoke softly as he crouched behind some foliage from the groups elevated position, looking around for the hounds. Lyn could her him take a long whiff of air through his nose. “I can smell them.”
-
In the clearing were several dozen 6 feet tall, greyhound looking dogs. Their giant muscles and small horns on their heads made them look more like bulls than hounds. In the center was a hell hound three times the size of the others with dark red skin rather than the black appearance of the others. "So...our numbers are a little low." Lyn whispered to the group. "Yeah, but we're stronger, aren't we?" Artemis crouched beside Cain, nudging him lightly. "You can do this, right?"
-
“Yes, definitely.” Cain told her. “I have an idea, since we will want to strike the alpha first with a surprise attack.”
-
"Alright, let's hear your plan." Artemis pulled the bow off her back and took an arrow out of her quiver.
-
“Well, let’s say I’ve been able to master a form of magic.” Cain began to explain. “I am able to hold myself in the air, and then bullet towards my targets with my Spear, and am able to deliver a devastating blow. If one, or both of you, leap on to me while I’m in the air. I could strike the beast, and then immediately after both of you would take it down while it’s surprised, if I don’t kill it with my first blow.”
-
"You think you can carry both of us?" Lyn asked, sounding unsure. Artemis shrugged and put her bow and arrow away. "Hey, if he's just doing this so that two girls cling onto him, I'll kill him myself."
-
“Yes, I can carry both of you.” Cain affirmed Lyn, ignoring Arty’s comment.
-
Both of the girls grabved onto one of his shoulders. "Try not to miss, Cain." Arty said before chuckling. "We miss and I doubt this'll end well."
-
“Alright, run with me now.” Cain said, lining everyone up to a tree branch that would take them furthest to the Alpha. There was one lined up towards it, and so Cain planted his feet firmly. “Now, run!” Cain told the two as he began to sprint across the wide branch.
-
The two girls sprinted after him, following his lead.
-
Cain then leapt, taking both of them with him. They began to fall for a moment before the ashen haired warrior raised his spear up and aimed his left hand at the alpha. He became coated in a bright blue light as two massive wings made of the same light appeared behind him, and they seemed to harmlessly path through both the girls. Then, they went really, really, fast. Lyn felt her head jolt back as they bulleted towards the alpha, closing the 200 or so meter distance in two seconds. Cain crashed his spear straight through the alpha as all three of them landed right on top of it.
-
The beast roared as Cain stabbed into its side, then fell over when Artemis slammed her knee into its face, followed up by Lyn penetrating the alpha's neck with her sword.

Edited by Inflatablepants: 11/30/2017 12:12:17 AMCain was relentless until the beast would fall limp, so he yanked his spear from its body as he hopped off of it, then quickly thrusted the spear directly towards its belly.
-
Artemis just watched as Lyn and Cain whacked away at it, Lyn chopping the creature's head off. "Good job, guys. Now..." Artemis trailed off, gesturing to around them. In all directions were dozens upon dozens of the giant hell hounds, fire shooting out of their nostrils with each exhale.
-
Edited by Inflatablepants: 11/30/2017 12:19:41 AM“Artemis, get someplace high so you can fire upon them without interference.” Cain told Arty as he turned his head to her. “Lyn, you and I hold down here. Don’t let them surround us, otherwise they will all be able to shoot their fire at us and we won’t be able to escape it.”
-
Artemis shrugged, tossing her bow and quiver to the ground. "Trust me, I should help and stay down here. I'll do more this way." Lyn pulled out both her swords, both of them pointed outward at the large pack closing in on them slowly. "This won't end well..."
-
“Like I said we can’t let them surround us.” Cain told them. “....We should charge them.”
