"Hm? A man inside another man? That's forbidden where I'm from! Haha! Just kidding, we're progressive."
He stared at the machine with a critical eye, and spoke again to the woman, pointing at the hit with the crystal ball on his staff.
"You got something you want protected?"

A man inside another man... She didn't feel like explaining how awkward that sounded. Instead she directed her attention to the man's question. "Ish, potential investors coming by. Thought I'd throw together something they are familiar with. Know the saying an enemy or my enemy is a freind?"
-
"The enemy of my enemy is friend, huh?" He thought for a moment, before speaking with a chuckle. It seemed that now he had gotten deeper into the conversation, only a hint of the joking smile he had left. "So these investors... They are your enemy's adversary?"

"Hey, if I don't have to be directly involved why not? Just trying to make another 'dojo invasion' not happen. Seriously this place gets hit with something every month" She finished up with the coding that the machine activated though only stood upright due to the wires tethered to its systems.

"Whoa... Crazy looking... But you might have to use it sooner rather than later. 5 colony planets I heard went dark, unable to communicate." He gripped his staff and tapped the crystal ball on his palm. "Let's hope whatever it is doesn't reach here."
-
"Huh, that could be problematic. Any chance of a pattern to keep track of?"
-
"Nope. Just the outside ones, gone silent and no ones heard from them since. But that's some worrying stuff, I'd rather not think about it." He sighed, and spoke to the woman again. "So what's your motivation to make such a machine?"
-
"Hand it over to the right people, indirectly keep certain people at bay, and probably have a backer or two into my research" The machine made a few noises and a clicking noise cane from the currently nonfunctional gun barrel. The thing started performing minor twitching like movements as the joints tested themselves for functionality. "Besides, if I get enough ground maybe this place will let me install a few railguns or something"

"Hm... Well, Good Luck! It's nice to see people protecting this beautiful, amazing planet!" It seemed the conversation, at best, was a far reach from what he could understand. Sighing, he decided to walk out he door. "And remember, never give up! Perseverance is... Key!"
End
