How'd you get so far away from me?
How'd you get so far?
How'd you get so far away?
--Fotress by Joni Fatora and Illenium

Sarah Grey was alone in the forest. She looked like she alone at fist glance.
She appeared to be dancing, with an invisible partner.
As you approach her, you see a clone of Solar Light. It had the likeness of a Hunter.
The two continued to dance like they were ballroom dancing.
Coldplay was playing as they danced. Sarah spun around. She returned to her partner, and the light clone dipped her, then pulled her close.
She leaned in, trying to kiss it, but it disappeared. She summoned another light clone of the same Hunter, the song changing to Fotress by Joni Fatora.
They continued to dance.

"You ever think about letting go?" Nathaniel's voice sounded off from behind Sarah. It carried through the wind, the way chocolate swirls into itself to make little balls. "You're caught up on a distant memory, Sarah. What do you even remember?"
-
"I'm starting to recover what I can..." She replied. She wondered how long it had been since she had last heard Nathaniel's voice. It had been a long time. A very long time.
-
"Why? Why do you try so desperately to cling to the past? To what was instead of what could be?" Nathaniel had asked rather bluntly, standing beside her as she danced.
-
She stopped, the clone fading. She stared to it. Sarah looked to the light clone. She was fading from the present, and being solidified into the past, she realized. The Warlock sighed, silent. If she were to continue this cycle, she would not be herself.
-
Nathaniel placed an armoured hand on her shoulder, trying to comfort her as best as he could. Though, it would be difficult. She had lost... So much. Too much if anything. "Losing yourself is easy, but to remain who you are is difficult. You have fought up until now, so keep fighting. Keep remaining."
-
Edited by Splashback77: 12/16/2017 2:54:04 PM"Fighting... damnit... I'm sick of fighting. I just wanted a break from all the crazy s**t that goes on back home. I wanted some peace.. I fought for that peace. I tried to secure it, to have it ripped away from me like paper."
-
"You can take breaks. No one is saying you can't. What I'm saying is you can't fall back. Peace never lasts, it is not something we can enjoy. Not you, not me. We live our lives in action, peace can never be something we have. War will plague us, people will die around us and we will be destined to see it all. We are cursed to live when all others die. Because we are meant to change the world, the galaxy. In our own way. "
-
"So it seems. Curses are curses. War may never end. If only... damnit..." She was clearly frustrated. "Calm down!" Lunar yelped. The Ghost clearly knew where this was going if she wasn't calmed.
-
"Sarah..." Nate's voice was one of warning, and also trying to keep her calm at the same time.
-
She sighed, and her anger was gone, "Everything is crazy right now. Next thing I know James is gonna show up from another timeline and stab me again..." Nathaniel noticed her Dark-Drinker was on her back, only just now. Then, a Titan appeared from nowhere and face-planted onto the ground. "Damn my luck..." Sarah muttered. The two noticed the Titan the Dark-Drinker on his back, and a glossy purple Ghost appeared. The Ghost looked to Nathaniel, then she immediately, "You're cute." "Amethyst... I swear... you're a teenage girl. When you first revive me, you tell me straight to my face that my brother is cuter in your opinion. Who do you crush on, now?" The Titan groaned.
-
"Thank... You?" Nathaniel asked, quickly putting his Mandalorian helmet back on and drawing a blaster pistol, keeping it at the ready. "The name's Nathaniel... Who exactly are you?"
-
Edited by Splashback77: 12/3/2017 4:00:27 AM"Where did you get that sword?" Sarah asked. The Titan slowly rose, then looking the Dark-Drinker on his back, "It used to be my mom's. She disappeared in the Pyramidion on a mission when I was young... this.. was all the scouts found of her. It was given to me." The Warlock's helm appeared on her head, hiding her face. "Wait a minute.... that sword belonged to your mother...?" Sarah asked. "Yeah... I did. Oh, and my name is David McNamara. Just an fyi.." the Titan added. David looked to Sarah's sword. "This isn't right. There's no way you should have that sword," they both said at the same time.
-
Nathaniel re-holstered the blaster as he looked between the two guardians. He didn't realize understand how they worked. As far as he was concerned, their swords were nothing special. He had always thought that anyone could get the blade. At least... That's what the video game taught him.

Edited by Splashback77: 12/9/2017 3:00:43 AM"Amethyst... why aren't we being sucked into some black hole by a paradox?" Lunar asked. "I don't know..." Amethyst asked. "This is like some sort of sick game. Or a court drama," Sarah decided, "The multiverse is mocking me." Amethyst floated to Lunar, in front the moondust-coated Ghost, "Do you mind if I take a DNA sample from your Warlock here?" "Give me a sample David's and we have a deal," Lunar replied. After a few seconds, the two guardians spoke up, "Ow!" "Lunar, you know I hate needles!" Sarah complained. "Warn me next time, Amethyst!" David muttered, "And I told you not to stick it in the buttocks!"
-
Satah complained. Dacid muttered.

Noice.... Messing up both their names
"So..." Nathaniel started, looking between the two of them awkwardly.

Edited by Splashback77: 12/4/2017 11:03:20 PM
Rushed reply, small keyboard
Lunar sighed, "No way..." Amethyst giggled, "Well hello Uncle Lunar." "I remember when Wisp first made that joke. I guess it carried on, in your timeline." "Wait... in our timeline?" David asked, "As in, we're from different timelines." "Yeah... according to the results, you sorta found your mom. You have part of her DNA, but she's not from a timeline where she gave birth to you," Amethyst explained. "And I thought you were just a teenage Ghost," David said. "Lunar did most the work." "Now that, I believe."
-
"Well this doesn't change anything now does it?" Nathaniel said with a sort of fake laugh, thinking about it. "Not like you're his actual mom, Sarah."
-
"Yep. This is how the multiverse mocks me," Sarah muttered.
-
"We should send him back." Nathaniel suggested, looking from David to Sarah.
-
"Send me back? Why? This place... it's curious... maybe I could learn a thing or two," David asked.
-
"Well, you have a family to go back to, don't you? There's nothing that legitimately connects you to this world besides Sarah, who never had you here. Why not go, be with your family?"
-
"I assume I do need to come in contact with my siblings, tell them what I've found. And my father... will be... interested to say the least."
-
"Greaaaat..." Nathaniel turned his attention to Sarah, sighing slightly. "I'll tell you how this goes. Finn, a different one, shows up with a couple of kids. His version of you is probably dead, so he falls in love with you. You fall in love with him. Become this kids mom, and other stuff."

Edited by Splashback77: 12/27/2017 9:56:27 AM"Not this time... I need to move on, life often does. And as much as I wish to take a break, there are still many things that need to be investigated, or eliminated. I have enough years to tell some stories, but I'm still a bit.. fresh.." the Warlock replied.
-
"Fresh?" Nathaniel asked her, almost surprised by her words.
