Chapter Four
Open to the vanguard.
On The Front Lines The City of Khalosh, 11:21 PM Silence. The Trayven host, accompanied by both the warriors of the Dojo and the Valkyries, had set up groups for their vanguard in order to meet and cluster upon the front line - they would join in humble groups, shrouded by the deep darkness of night and the foliage that grew over their shadows. In the distance, the first members of the charge would see Khalosh, or.. something of the sort. It's walls had been refurbished, a wooden-and-stone gateway now blocking the one entrance into the city. Surrounding the city and encasing it within it's shell was a deep, light blue fog, whisking throughout the skies and air as the city itself was eerie silent.. The only way to defeat the larger force, without starving them out, was a literal surprise charge and a lot of dead captains and lieutenants on the Tribune's half of the battle. Then, the siege horn would ring. A deep, booming thing, as those patrols and Tribune archers whom would stand upon the wall walk would suddenly draw their eyes and bows towards the outside of Khalosh. From there - the vanguard would charge out. The vanguard would be accompanied by a full-on wall of scutum-wielding troops, charging towards the city in a clustered row. A warning horn would breeze throughout Khalosh, bells ringing throughout the city as civilians, soldiers, and mercenaries alike either retreated from the impeding siege, or would head towards it. The iron doors of Khalosh would creak open only for a moment, as a welcoming party of Tribune troops would storm towards the assaulting vanguard. And yet, behind the vanguard..
For the assault members and vanguard in total.
"FOR THE GOLDEN LION!" Freya's battlecry would ring across the impeding chaos, as the armies would make their way towards the walls of Khalosh. Those whom would arrive first would have to assist the vanguard and manage to push forwards, for far behind them, a battering ram had begun progress throughout the road of the forest. The idea was to use such a siege as a distraction - and yet, be capable of eliminating the Tribune's efforts as well.
For the assassins.
"...She's a fuсking idiot. Still my sister." Isabella would murmur, as she had lead those whom wouldn't be attacking throughout a rather.. different area: one of the few recovered tunnel networks that was both kept hidden from the Tribune's scrying eyes, and one that hadn't collapsed after so much time. Such a tunnel was apparently utilized by a mafia boss, according to the information gathered by Natalie, when the first attack upon Khalosh had seemed to be in the works yet kept secret. Isabella would finally bring the assassins up a ladder and into what was an abandoned building. The sounds of charging troops and yells were in the distance, albeit not close to the building. "Could've used this place, Tribs. Literally gave up on the tunnel and building, oh well." Isabella whispered, as she then turned back to her small group of mercenaries, murderers, and generally untrustworthy people. "Alright.. captains, lieutenants, commandos, majors - whatever's out there, maybe their damn general is - point is, we need you guys to kill 'em off. These Tribune asshats will scatter afterwards.. they're probably wearing white and gold, so they'll be easy to recognize. Y'all good, or what? You need a quick bathroom break, now's the time. I'm heading down and joining the assault.. even though that fuсking walk through the tunnel is tiring as hell."

  • Traci stood with the rest of the assassin's, expressionless with her black clothes on that she had worn in front of Freya earlier. The large black sword on her back was the only visible weapon of her's. "Let's go. We shouldn't waste time."

  • "Get moving then, midget. I already know that you'll rip through 'em. And.. don't get killed. Freya would cry too much." Isabella would nod towards Traci, as she went ahead and left.

  • Traci would get a good view, of the impeding chaos ahead. Valkyries, Trayven soldiers, and Dojo warriors fought alike, soon taking the front lines and pushing the enemy back into the city. A building was aflame in the background, a lighthearted voice yelling "WRONG!" as a *boom!* rang throughout the city. Traci's first victim would be a male, an archer bringing in men and women carrying arrows. They seemed to packing oil, and lit torches as well.

  • Traci sprinted around buildings and over obstacles, moving with incredible agility. She drew no weapons as she grew near however.

The moment she was within range throwing knives formed in each hand. She threw them straight at the archers' necks, several knives all thrown at once.
They on a wall above her?
Traci charged after them, her speed clearly faster than the archers. On her left arm she formed a round shield of metal, in the other hand she grasp the sword off her back.
I'm confused about positioning lol. Are the archers supposed to be up on castle walls above her or...?
•
I figured that Traci was on a tower, or at least at a position that matched the wall's height lol. Yes, they're on the wall, aka the ramparts right now.
The few archers that actually decided to fight Traci would then turn back, releasing flung arrows towards her being. A count of six, in total, two of them tightly clustered for her chest while the other four had gone to her left. The shield may work, but moving away worked too..

  • She kept running after them, shield raised to deflect those aimed at her chest while she simply moved away from the other ones.

  • "She's not stopping-!" A few of the sprinting archers would become victims as they fell behind, as Traci finally found the captain. The captain drew his shortsword, dropping his bow as he beckoned Traci forth. A duelist.

  • Traci slashed through all of the soldiers in her way without losing any speed, eyes glued to the captain. She kept her shield raised and sword pointed forward, ready to charge right into him.

  • The captain wouldn't stay in place so that Traci could rip through him with the sword, so he would maneuver to the side, as Traci would pass him. His back was against the castle's looming walls, the battlefield behind him.

  • Traci slid, her momentum causing her to take a few moments before she could change direction and run back at him. She sheathed her sword as she ran back toward the captain, pulling a knife out and throwing him at it with that hand.

  • The captain would suddenly slash, successfully pulling off an Aragorn as the blade of his sword collided into the blade, as it whistled off to the side with a screeching clang. He was left open for attack, as he overswung his blade.

  • Traci jumped forward, shield raised and aimed at the captain's head. Her free hand pulled the sword off her back in the meantime.

  • The captain would attempt to bring his sword down, but it was too late, the shield already slamming into his face and sending him close to the edge. He dropped his sword, only to fumble for his dagger in his stunned state.

  • Continuing with her momentum, Traci charged forward. She slashed at the hand grabbing for the dagger with her sword.

  • The captain would be successfully pushed off, then, the knife flying out of his hand as his body would topple over the ramparts, a faint yell heard before he slammed against the earth. The siege had begun to end, with the Tribune's remaining forces drawing back, as the Trayvens, Dojo warriors, and Valkyries had begun to hold the front lines, a battering ram crashing into the gates.

  • Traci gazed over the battlefield, sheathing her sword on her back once more. She attempted to find Freya in the chaos, hoping she lived.

  • Freya seemed to have been lost, in the waves of purple and white.. until she seemingly rose from the ocean of warriors, pulling up a soldier of Trayven before yelling a barely distinguishable battle cry - "In omnia paratus!" The chant seemed to inspire the charging Trayvens, as they had increased their assault. Yet charging towards Freya, or rather shifting towards her, was a serpent of rock and concrete.. a creature of magic, bound to attack her.

  • "Freya..." Traci stepped back before sprinting forward and jumping off the wall in the direction of Freya. She rolled as she hit the ground and without hesitation sprinted toward Freya.
