ZANE VS JASON
https://youtube.com/watch?v=6RXTHR1A6_g
This was it. The semi finals. Whichever one of these warriors would move on to become champion. And for one of them, this would let him keep his streak.
As Zane was thrust into the arena, he felt a sense of determination. This was his first tournament without his powers, and he had only his tech and his battle hardened training and instincts.
As Jason was trust into the arena, he saw his next target. The champion himself...
Well in his eyes, that status would soon change for Zane. He had dealt with the Australian soldier, the tech psion and the man of illusions.
It was time to win this. For both of them.
As the arena formed around them, they found themselves become hot as the massive rocky inward slopes of a volcano formed around them. Below their feet was a ginormous rocky sheet that was held up by massive steel chains(eight to be exact). The arena was 200ft in diameter, and was riddled with rocks and boulders that would provide the two significant cover from projectiles.
In the centre of the platform there would be a massive 40ft in diameter hold that exposed the lava that was six feet under the arena.
This would be their playground.
Then, Haakon would speak:
“IT IS GETTING HEATED MY FRIENDS! Two brave warriors will dish it out in this semi-final tournament. The winner will move on to the championships, and will then have the chance to achieve GLORY!
Now...without wasting any more time....
FIGHT!!!!”
Three days time. However since it’s the semi-final I may or may not be willing to extend your fight.
Zane drew a deep breath, exhailing a few seconds after. He had heard of his opponent, and he knew that this would be his hardest fight yet. He knew his opponent fought with an energy saber, so he would have to be careful. His Gunblade would break instantly if struck, however his buster sword would be able to resist a few hits at least. He took cover behind a nearby bolder, his suit keeping him cool from the volcanos heat. He unholstered his AK-47 and sat silently, waiting for his opponent to make his move

He rolled his shoulders, right hand plucking two grenades from the six at his belt, each being a bland, matte black cannister -- they were identical, really. The two grenades would land a few feet behind Zane, each exploding as soon as they hit the rocky ground. One detonated in a maelstrom of pure fury, white phosphorus sprayed over the area, burning at 2800 degrees celcius or 5000 degrees Fahrenheit -- something it would keep doing for a while. The other grenade blew up in a significantly more traditional way, detonating up with a roar, the sound absolutely deafening so closely. Burning hot shrapnel was expelled from the body of the fragmentation grenade, while the heat and explosive force would no doubt hit Zane full-blast. In th moment of shock, Jason had started sprinting, Rose drawn, main held in the right hand, underbarrel one in the left. His metal boots thudded on the rock as he charged on over, his thrusters boosting with every stride to only heighten his speed further.

Edited by Zane the 3rd: 12/12/2017 8:02:26 PM
Zanes load out: Buster sword Gunblade Ak-47 .44 Elemental Revolver Flash bangs
Zane saw the grenades flying at him, so he flipped his cape over himself to protect himself. His cloak was made out of a special weave, which made explosions and bullets ineffective. The flames roared around him, but what Jason didn't know was that his suit was made to resist heat. He peaked out from behind the rock, his own radar and sight allowing him to see Jason charging at him. He opened fire with his Rifle, letting loose a burst of 5 rounds and aiming for Rose.
-
Whatever Rose's shell was made from proved to be hardy and very tough, the five 7.62x39mm bullets doing little more than falling off of... whatever the shotgun was protected by. Jason's charge didn't do so much as falter, the energy thrusters on his suit giving him a hard boost as he was upon Zane within absolute seconds, easily sprinting a good eighty miles an hour. The Russian took to the sky, his shotgun aimed and ready while his own perspective of time slowed down to a crawl. He carefully aligned the glowing ironsights with Zane's collar, before pulling the trigger. Jason's superhuman strength diminished most of the recoil, though the gun was still forced up as four deafening bangs filled the air in rapid succession. Four 8 gauge shotgun slugs of solid tungsten were sent at the Champion, two aimed for the collar, one for the throat, and one for the middle of his face. They easily had a muzzle velocity of 500 meters a second each, going fast and hard with pinpoint accuracy.
-
Zane heard the shots go off, and he quickly raised his ward which caught the bullets and suspended them. He aimed his ward at Jason, and returned his slugs right back at him with added force.
-
The slugs would only cause a navy blue energy shield to flare up as they hit the shielding that protected Jason even further, doing nary a thing to him as he landed on top of Zane's cover not as much as a half-second later. He dashed forwards immediately, boosters roaring again as he gave himself another thick layer of speed while he aimed to ram Zane full force, spiked shoulder already aimed at his chest.
-
Zane's radar was pinging like crazy, and he saw the large Russian charging at him. He activated his own rocket boots and took to the air, but was knocked off balance by Jason charging into him. His suits shock absorber dampened most of the damage however. His quick draw modification allowed him to draw his buster sword with great speed, and he slashed at the back of his opponent.
-
Jason had some faint idea of what was happening behind him with both common sense and his motion tracker. He thrust himself forwards and into the ground, the very tip of the Buster Sword just barely scraping over his energy shielding as he dropped into a high-speed combat roll. During his totally epic dodge, he drew his Energy-Saber with his left hand, leaving it deactivated for the moment while Rose was held in his right hand. His thrusters suddenly changed direction at the end of his roll as he did the same, flipping around with a jerk so that he was facing Zane once more, his boots skidding over the rock as he went through his knees. With a wide grin, he launched himself at the Champion, Saber activating in the middle of the lunge, coming up with a hard swing from the bottom right. He also brought his shotgun up, blasting a second four-round burst at Zane's face.
-
He had a limited time to react with limited options, so he chose the simplest. He turned his blade to the flat was facing him, which protected him from the shotgun blast. The saber however collided with his buster sword, chipping into the metal with ease. His gunblade was resting on his hip, and with his free hand he drew and slashed at the Russian.
-
Jason's smirk turned into a smile, because while he was definitely a battle-hardened veteran of many wars, he still adored the thrill of a fight. He threw more force into his Energy-Saber, driving the blade deeper into the Buster Sword, the blue, ionized plasma burning at a good thirty thousand degrees Celsius or fifty thousand degrees Fahrenheit -- more than enough to melt through just about anything. He effortlessly moved his shotgun to block the gunblade, locking them both together.
-
His buster sword continued to crack, but his trap was laid. Jason's shotgun was lined with an orange substance, which he was about to find out what it was. Zane fired off a .357 armor piercing round into the shotgun. While the round itself might not have done much, it did mix with the explosive compound that was laced the onto the gun. An explosion separated the two men, sending them both flying back. Zane quickly took action, his rocket boots allowing him to recover and dash forward, launching Into a spin slash and flying at Jason.
-
Jason barely felt the explosion even as he was sent flying backwards, elegantly landing on both feet, knees bending a little while he skidded over the ground. Rose was off a lot worse for wear, however, because while the original explosion hadn't done much, it had set off he slugs within the magazine. He tossed the shotgun aside, the gun disappearing into nothingness as it broke apart into... blue pixels. He clenched his hand into a fist then, Rose reappearing within it when he opened it back up. His thumb gave the grip a loving stroke, the shotgun now in... pristine condition, as if nothing had ever happened. The Russian rolled his shoulders, Zane's spinning slash stopped dead in its tracks when his Buster Sword hit the Energy-Saber, Jason's left arm jerking slightly, though he remained unwavering nonetheless. He immediately pulled Rose's trigger (no lenny), sending a burst of four adamantium - not tungsten - slugs filled with explosive charges at Zane's undefended left leg, or more specifically, his shin and knee both. Seemed the merc was a tad peeved over what happened to his shotgun, despite it being fine now.
-
His energy shield took the brunt of the blast, weakening but holding strong. His buster sword kept the two veterans locked in place, so he decided to release his grip on his blade, blasting back with his boots letting it fall to the ground. He used the distance to draw his AK, and fired at the hilt of Jason's energy saber.
-
Jason's very perception of time was still extraordinarily slow, while his reaction time was the exact opposite: very fast. He moved his Energy-Saber, the bullets turned to molten slag of brass that harmlessly hit his armour, doing nothing more than discolour it. He stepped over the Buster Sword as he sprinted after Zane, firing three bursts of four slugs exactly -- a total of twelve shells being fired in rapid succession. They were aimed for the Champion's center of mass, merely to distract him while the Russian was very rapidly closing in.
-
Zane grinned from under his helmet, and he raised his ward to block the shots once again. He immediately sent them right back at Jasons shotgun while also activating the mag grip on his gauntlet. The buster sword then flew right at the Russian, ready to Pierce the man's armor.
-
Jason made a "hmm" noise under his helmet then. When his shots were returned to him, he moved his shotgun closer to his body, to the point where the energy shielding overlapped with it, though even then... the twelve slugs were something he didn't want to deal with because he figured they'd break his shields, and really... he was probably right. Instead of tanking, he dashed diagonally to the left with his energy thrusters, moving him out of harm's way. Both the slugs and the sword would miss, while he was still on a war path right towards Zane. The Russian moved his shotgun back to his... back, now free hand gripping the hilt like its brother. He was finally upon the Champion, lunging at him with a downwards strike from the right, the very tip of the burning hot plasma blade cleaving through the ground before it would go at Zane. The swing was fast and hard, Jason's armour and cybernetic limbs working in tandem with the boosters.
-
Zane's buster sword had returned to his hand when it passed the Russian, and he saw the saber sparking across the ground. He knew he had to act fast, so he used his rocket boots to propel him forward and upward, just out of the blades reach. He then used his momentum to launch into a spin slash that was like a buzzsaw, and came crashing down on Jason.
-
Quite like the previous spinning attack, this one was forced to a stop when it clashed into Jason's own sword, his upwards sweep easily allowing him to tilt the Energy-Saber so that the Buster Sword came crashing into it -- exactly where the blades had clashed before, there where the damage was most severe. When the Champion would inevitably land, the Russian delivered a harsh kick with his right leg, thrusters giving it plenty more oomph with a quick boost. His metal boot would no doubt hurt, while the sheer force behind it would likely separate the two -- if it even landed, that was.
-
Zane grunted when his attack was halted, this opponent seem to be giving him quite the run for his money. Luckily for him, his buster sword was still in good shape. He saw the kick coming for him so he decided to match it by delivering a kick of his own, causing the two to be locked in place once again. With his free hand he grabbed a flashbang from his belt, pulling the pin and activating his suits flash shield. When it would go off, it would hopefully blind his opponent.
-
Edited by Nibber Schipper: 12/13/2017 5:39:17 PMJason's helmet and extensive augmentation filtered the blinding flash and deafening bang both, his left fist unexpectedly sent flying at Zane's face with superhuman force and speed both, only further heightened by the energy thrusters, all while their blades were locked with one another. The Russian's saber was slowly carving through the Buster Sword, inch by inch, the metal melting and deteriorating beneath the tremendous heat. Then, a blue sheen moved over his armour, his energy shielding back at full power.
-
Edited by Zane the 3rd: 12/13/2017 5:47:35 PMHis fist collided with the side of his helmet, his own shield protecting him from most of the impact. His left hand was holding the buster sword, and with his right he quickly drew and his .44 from his hip and fired a bullet right at the hilt of the saber.
-
The aiming would've been clunky and inaccurate since Zane would have to blindly aim up and in between their bodies, the bullet not even scathing the metal hilt of the discount, instead just barely scratching the second knuckle of Jason's left middle finger, doing absolutely no damage. His left hand let go of the grip, moving to his back to grab Rose. While the Russian and the Champion were locked together, the former fired a bust of four adamantium slugs at the latter's right leg.
wut

you realize they blew up the moment they landed right Like, instantly Because contact grenades do that

Thought one of the rules were to never assume your attack landed, you gotta give your opponent time to react
