His buster sword continued to crack, but his trap was laid. Jason's shotgun was lined with an orange substance, which he was about to find out what it was.
Zane fired off a .357 armor piercing round into the shotgun. While the round itself might not have done much, it did mix with the explosive compound that was laced the onto the gun. An explosion separated the two men, sending them both flying back. Zane quickly took action, his rocket boots allowing him to recover and dash forward, launching Into a spin slash and flying at Jason.

Jason barely felt the explosion even as he was sent flying backwards, elegantly landing on both feet, knees bending a little while he skidded over the ground. Rose was off a lot worse for wear, however, because while the original explosion hadn't done much, it had set off he slugs within the magazine. He tossed the shotgun aside, the gun disappearing into nothingness as it broke apart into... blue pixels. He clenched his hand into a fist then, Rose reappearing within it when he opened it back up. His thumb gave the grip a loving stroke, the shotgun now in... pristine condition, as if nothing had ever happened. The Russian rolled his shoulders, Zane's spinning slash stopped dead in its tracks when his Buster Sword hit the Energy-Saber, Jason's left arm jerking slightly, though he remained unwavering nonetheless. He immediately pulled Rose's trigger (no lenny), sending a burst of four adamantium - not tungsten - slugs filled with explosive charges at Zane's undefended left leg, or more specifically, his shin and knee both. Seemed the merc was a tad peeved over what happened to his shotgun, despite it being fine now.

His energy shield took the brunt of the blast, weakening but holding strong. His buster sword kept the two veterans locked in place, so he decided to release his grip on his blade, blasting back with his boots letting it fall to the ground. He used the distance to draw his AK, and fired at the hilt of Jason's energy saber.

Jason's very perception of time was still extraordinarily slow, while his reaction time was the exact opposite: very fast. He moved his Energy-Saber, the bullets turned to molten slag of brass that harmlessly hit his armour, doing nothing more than discolour it. He stepped over the Buster Sword as he sprinted after Zane, firing three bursts of four slugs exactly -- a total of twelve shells being fired in rapid succession. They were aimed for the Champion's center of mass, merely to distract him while the Russian was very rapidly closing in.

Zane grinned from under his helmet, and he raised his ward to block the shots once again. He immediately sent them right back at Jasons shotgun while also activating the mag grip on his gauntlet. The buster sword then flew right at the Russian, ready to Pierce the man's armor.

Jason made a "hmm" noise under his helmet then. When his shots were returned to him, he moved his shotgun closer to his body, to the point where the energy shielding overlapped with it, though even then... the twelve slugs were something he didn't want to deal with because he figured they'd break his shields, and really... he was probably right. Instead of tanking, he dashed diagonally to the left with his energy thrusters, moving him out of harm's way. Both the slugs and the sword would miss, while he was still on a war path right towards Zane. The Russian moved his shotgun back to his... back, now free hand gripping the hilt like its brother. He was finally upon the Champion, lunging at him with a downwards strike from the right, the very tip of the burning hot plasma blade cleaving through the ground before it would go at Zane. The swing was fast and hard, Jason's armour and cybernetic limbs working in tandem with the boosters.

Zane's buster sword had returned to his hand when it passed the Russian, and he saw the saber sparking across the ground. He knew he had to act fast, so he used his rocket boots to propel him forward and upward, just out of the blades reach. He then used his momentum to launch into a spin slash that was like a buzzsaw, and came crashing down on Jason.
-
Quite like the previous spinning attack, this one was forced to a stop when it clashed into Jason's own sword, his upwards sweep easily allowing him to tilt the Energy-Saber so that the Buster Sword came crashing into it -- exactly where the blades had clashed before, there where the damage was most severe. When the Champion would inevitably land, the Russian delivered a harsh kick with his right leg, thrusters giving it plenty more oomph with a quick boost. His metal boot would no doubt hurt, while the sheer force behind it would likely separate the two -- if it even landed, that was.

Zane grunted when his attack was halted, this opponent seem to be giving him quite the run for his money. Luckily for him, his buster sword was still in good shape. He saw the kick coming for him so he decided to match it by delivering a kick of his own, causing the two to be locked in place once again. With his free hand he grabbed a flashbang from his belt, pulling the pin and activating his suits flash shield. When it would go off, it would hopefully blind his opponent.

Edited by Nibber Schipper: 12/13/2017 5:39:17 PMJason's helmet and extensive augmentation filtered the blinding flash and deafening bang both, his left fist unexpectedly sent flying at Zane's face with superhuman force and speed both, only further heightened by the energy thrusters, all while their blades were locked with one another. The Russian's saber was slowly carving through the Buster Sword, inch by inch, the metal melting and deteriorating beneath the tremendous heat. Then, a blue sheen moved over his armour, his energy shielding back at full power.

Edited by Zane the 3rd: 12/13/2017 5:47:35 PMHis fist collided with the side of his helmet, his own shield protecting him from most of the impact. His left hand was holding the buster sword, and with his right he quickly drew and his .44 from his hip and fired a bullet right at the hilt of the saber.

The aiming would've been clunky and inaccurate since Zane would have to blindly aim up and in between their bodies, the bullet not even scathing the metal hilt of the discount, instead just barely scratching the second knuckle of Jason's left middle finger, doing absolutely no damage. His left hand let go of the grip, moving to his back to grab Rose. While the Russian and the Champion were locked together, the former fired a bust of four adamantium slugs at the latter's right leg.
