Some people may feel that it is. Fact of the matter is, Three Of Coins are designed to give you a SLIGHT buff in the RNG. The first time they were introduced in Destiny, they were broken as hell, people found ways to exploit them and Bungie patched said exploit in relatively quick fashion.
PRO TIP: Don't pop them one after the other consecutively. Instead, wait 5-10 minutes between coins. They have a hidden cooldown timer.

Don't forget to lick your rabbits foot. Regardless new 3oc work entirely different, and each lasts for 4 hours. Don't seem to work well either. Try reading the description of the item, or reading the patch notes before your try to give "pro" tips. [spoiler]Bro![/spoiler]

you are confusing coins. in destiny 1 three of coins was a 1 use thing that was consumed once an item dropped. in destiny 2 the coin lasts for 4 hours, no matter what

A simpler Three of Coins that boosts Exotic drop rates from any source for 4 hours. No obscure stacking mechanics or need to re-apply before every boss. These cost Legendary Shards and you can have as many as you like Pasted from Bungie patch notes.
