"Thank you," she told Oliver.
She sat down, beginning to eat.

-
"Hey, no problem. Gravy coming up in a bit. I.. have family coming over, so that's why the meal's so big. My aunt, she wished to visit me." Oliver mentioned, finishing the bacon. "Hope you don't mind her. She's great a fantastic, though she's.. interesting, I guess you could say."
-
"This... will be interesting," Sarah decided.
-
"Yeah.." Oliver sat down, with his own plate. "When she arrives.. she'll pray a little to her god, or rather - her mother, a deity known as Thetis. I've never been highly religious, nor do I know if you're a religious individual.. mostly because I don't know this place's beliefs too well."
-
"I'm not religious. Because I know if I die permanently I'm going to hell."
-
Oliver went quiet, for a bit, as he looked up at Sarah. "...Does no god save those whom sacrificed themselves for the betterment of the people? No matter their past, as long as they pursue redemption? ...Then the gods are wrong themselves." He would sigh. "If I was to die, then I already know that from this sense of 'judgment', I will suffer. I am a soldier - we both are - and we suffer soldier's fates."
-
"Oliver, there are no gods. Just asshats with a lot of power who think they're gods but have a weakness they won't tell anyone."
-
"Then we won't follow those gods, and kings, and such. Others might.. we won't." A soft knocking was heard, at the door. "...That'll be her. Guess you're ready for her, then?"
-
"I'll go get dressed, in a minute. Appear more... decent."
-
"Alright.. I'll keep her at the door, though.. She doesn't mind how you look." Oliver would get up, opening the door and beginning to converse. Sarah could get some better clothing, at the time.
-
She gathered her Warlock robes, putting them on. She brushed her hair, taking time to braid it.
-
The conversation up front seemed to worsen, a little. The speaking woman almost seemed.. angry. "So you sit here, with a girl, while your sister is gone." "I can't even do anything to-" "You can. Yet you only follow your sisters. What was all of that, about being free from gods and kings? What was all of that, then, to the Lady Guardian?"
-
Sarah approached the door. "One, I don't remember him saying that. Two: How did you know I was an Iron Lord. And three: From what I've seem Oliver's too loyal. You go tell him to kill himself and he does it, no questions asked."
-
When Sarah arrived, the woman turned her gaze to her, bowing her head. She was beautiful, like a goddess descended from the heavens, with long streams of cyan-white hair and soft, light blue eyes. "Lady Guardian. Forgive my intrusion and knowledge. I am Athena - related to your.. friend her, of whom is my nephew." "Loyalty's burnt into my mind, Sarah.." Oliver sighed. "That's all that knights are tamed to do: to be lapdogs."
-
"Yes..." She studied the woman, "I can see the family resemblance." She shrugged, "Why do I think that knights and Titans aren't that different."
-
"Mason isn't an idiot like I am and taking hits without actual armor." "He's complaining about the hammer that slammed into him, during battle. Though that is why we have clerics, dear." "Athena.." Oliver sighed, as Athena would meet Sarah's gaze. "...If you don't mind, Sarah.. could we speak together? Some girl talk, if you don't mind." Girl talk. Oliver scratched the back of his head, confused.
-
"Alright," she agreed. Oh dear, here comes the scolding. It's not going to be worse than the time Mason shoulder charged me into the wall, she thought.

Edited by Weeaboo Of War: 12/17/2017 6:26:48 PMAs Oliver left the room for a bit, Athena would stroke Sarah's chin, sighing a little. "He is loyal, yes. But he has boundaries. He wants to be more than a soldier, even as that would only lead to his death.. ...I ask you, let him go. What do you see in him, anyway? His love? His care for you?" Whatever game that Athena was playing, it was different.
-
She seemed confused. Sarah wasn't exactly into Oliver, per say. But he was a rather interesting individual. "Me? Going after him? I... you're truly mistaken. He's a rather kind individual. I don't want him to waste it on me."
-
"And yet, he thinks that you are." Athena sighed, then. "He'd do a lot, for you. He wouldn't end himself if you told him to, but he would sacrifice himself yet. Oliver has.. reasons, for being so close to people, too. ...As a child, the only true interactions that he had was with me, his older brother, and his twin sister. His father hated him. His younger sister, Freya, ignored him. His people ridiculed him for what he is: a bаstard. Niki, his sister, and I, were his friends. But his older brother Arthur.. he was his hero. Oliver idolized him. ...I can see why he follows you, so much. You have admirable qualities, negative ones too, and ones more similar to Arthur than you'd think. He knows death as you know death. He knows sacrifice as you do, too. Yet Arthur is gone, taken by the enemy. But you remain, and for that.. you keep him going. Alive, you could say."
-
She had no idea. Her jaw dropped.
-
"...It seems quite surprising, to you. From how he has spoken of you, though.. he holds you in a high regard." Athena would sit, motioning for Sarah to sit down with her. "Oliver's story doesn't end if you admit to him. He would appreciate it more, in truth, knowing him."
-
She sat down.
-
"...It is my fault, for not giving them a better life. Freedom, from Armillion. His sister is the same.. idolizing the eldest of the children, Isabella, yet she has found love already. ...you can understand the turmoil."
-
"Must be headache-inducing."
-
"You seem to have dealt with worse, and you are dealing with worse. Timelines split and torn, reality shattered. I'm sorry. For.. knowing too much."
