Zane chuckled as he took his seat, setting his weapons aside.
"Ha, il show you not to underestimate the nightingale clan!"

Ulfric nodded to Zane before he gently gripped his daughters shoulder and led her away, along with Zane following them. They would arrive at an establishment that was an open walled home, that had tables in the main floor as well as outside the establishment. It smelled of beef, pork, fresh bread and the Like. After the three had gotten their meals they sat down at a table for three, Ulfric sitting beside Bella on one side of a circle table while Zane sat the side opposite of them. “So.” Ulfric began. “Have you seen setsuna a lot? Have you kept in contact with her?”
-
"I...." Zane let out a heavy sigh, pinching his nose. "Setsuna....She isn't coming back....."
-
“...I see.” Ulfric would simply say. Zane could tell he was slightly disappointed but...there wasn’t much else to it. “I can’t say I’m not surprised, but that’s just how it is.” “Ya I mean, I never met her anyways, right? Not like I’m missing out on much!” Bella would then say disrespectfully. But at the same time, it was justified.
-
"Bella....Setsuna, your mother, wasn't the same as when we were kids...She had changed, and not for the better. I....I don't think you would have wanted to meet her." This was a difficult topic to talk about. Zane knew that his daughter had broken the control device that was keeping the kids brainwashed, and that they had then in a rage killed her. But when he saw and fought with her ghost she was different, kinder and more caring.
-
Bella would cross her legs, nodding as she seemed to care more about her sugary drink then the topic. “Yea, I kinda guessed that.” Bella told Zane. “Well hey, you seem pretty cool! Dad what’s the issue with him again?” “...Well. Maybe that’s something you shouldn’t be present for....” Ulfric told Bella. “I have an idea. Bella I’ll take you back to the hotel, you can have fun in the pool and watch TV, and order all the room service you’d like. I have a few things I need to talk to Zane about yet. Adult things.” Bella furrowed her brow, before nodding. “Okay...fine.” She agreed. Ulfric looked to Zane. “Want to meet again in two hours? There’s a park in the city, with a fountain. We can meet there.”
-
"Yeah, that sounds good. Also dont worry about the bill, I can take care of it."
-
Ulfric nodded in thanks, before standing up and looking to Bella. The girl looked to Zane before she left. “It was nice meeting you!” Bella said, before her and Ulfric took off. Two hours later Zane found himself at the park. It was nothing massive but it was a peaceful green space filled with large oak trees and the smell of the water coming from the fountain that stood in the centre. Zane would be sitting at a bench, taking in the air before he spotted the purple cloaked figure. Ulfric sat down beside Zane, before he let out a heavy sigh.
-
"Have you heard the joke where a hero and a cult member walk into a park? It's a classic."
-
Ulfric chuckled at Zane’s comment, shaking his head. “Y’know, I don’t think I have. Any idea what the punchline is?”
-
"Not a damn clue actually. Probably cause it never would have happened. Not till now anyway."
-
“Fair enough....” Ulfric would say, looking at the fountain. “You showing up, it puts be in a weird spot. Rather conflicted, actually.”
-
"Indeed. On one hand you impregnated my older sister and married her, making you my brother in law. One the other hand however, you worship the god I killed. By normal standards we should already be at each other's throats."
-
Edited by Inflatablepants: 12/22/2017 8:07:49 PM“Then on my side, I fell in love with your sister, who abandoned me shortly after giving birth. Then you killed the god I am currently in a crisis of faith with, followed by the fact that you saved me from that twilight corruption. Then a year later, you kill my fanatic brother who did more harm then good, but was still my brother, and then you show up here telling me the woman I once loved is actually your sister, but now also dead. So ya, by regular standards we should be at eachothers throats, but these aren’t regular standards.”
-
"So then, what are we to do? I don't really feel like fighting, since you are the father of my niece. I'd rather not make her a true Nightingale, if you get what I mean."
-
“Ya, I get it. Quite frankly I’d rather not fight you either.” Ulfric would tell him. “I mean, if I can make up with the grenwalds, I sure as hell can make up with you!” Zane remembered that the grenwalds were the tokages greatest enemy, and that the two clans clashed for hundreds of years. However the two clans had come to peace as of late. “So...I guess we could just say, we’re on equal footing. We have a history, and that’s behind us. Now, you’re my daughters uncle. However...I am not your brother in law.”
-
"Ah, so the two if you never married then. Was it just a night of passion then or a happy mistake?"
-
“Doesn’t really matter what happened, also I wouldn’t wanna say anything bad about your sister. From the sound of it you weren’t too close and I’d rather keep your memory of her untainted.”
-
"I knew how she was, the woman she turned out to be. Nothing you could say would spoil my image of her. In the end, she was there for me. She explained to me why she made her Decisions. I may not have agreed with them, but in the end our clan survived. The kids are free now, and are living normal lives. You really wanna burry the hatchet? You raise that girl right. She doesn't need to grow up to be like us."

-
"I see, I was wondering what brought you to this island. Were you two watching the fights?"
-
“Well, I heard something was going on. Actually Halt told me about you, you remember him?” Ulfric asked Zane. Zane would remember that Halt was the leader of the grenwalds, a man who was gruff but helped Anne when she had been injured and told Zane where to go when he needed to rescue Alex.
-
"Yeah I do actually. He helped my injured friend. How's he doing?"
-
“Well, I’m just getting to know him now. He’s a bit of a gruff bastard, but hell he’s a smart one. Does what he thinks is right whenever he can, I can respect it.”
-
"Oh yeah, he can be a bit of a hardass but he's got a kind heart. So he told you about the tournament?"
-
“Ya, haven’t seen any of the fights myself. Didn’t really want Bella to see it, since they can get brutal. We’ve just been exploring the city, she really loves the place! Though...maybe it’s just because she can scale just about everything here... And your friends, couldn’t help but notice them. The ones with the white hair, you come with them or...?”
