The problem is some people have mental issues that force them to buy these things. Telling them to stop doesn't help. These loot boxes are purposely designed to take advantage of the people with this mental deficiency. That's one of the reasons they are so amazingly evil. They're called "Whales". They buy thousands of dollars worth of digital trash, and the rest of us buy nothing, ever. But these "Whales" buy so much that Bungievision makes millions off of them. These people can't stop themselves. So who are you telling to stop? If Bungie, Activision, and EA won't self regulate to stop preying on these people, all we are left with is government intervention. One way or the other, it has to stop. They can stop it themselves (best option for everyone, including the predators) or we the people will stop them.

  • Justify it with whatever south park reference you want. Getting the government involved wouldn't end well for any party. Also these whales you speak of are competent enough that they don't need a power of attorney person handling their money. Simple answer if enough people really didn't like microtransactions they wouldn't have become a norm. Stop buying games from publishers that use them. However that's not the real problem you like this game and it has shit you don't want to gamble on and think your government can force them to give it to you for free. Next thing you know there will be a tax increase for moderation costs of online entertainment. -blam!- off and play something else.
