To those who don’t know, two Guardians by the names of Owen & Tlohtzin recently released the full, complete version of the Music of the Spheres, a planned musical companion to Destiny made by Martin O’Donnel and Paul McCartney, and I think Michael Salvatori as well, but I am not for sure. It was never released due to legal issues that resulted in the firing of O’Donnel . I haven’t seen any posts on here regarding this amazing achievement, so I thought I would post the reddit link. Give it a hear and give those guys an upvote and a lot of praise because they deserve it.

Edit: Kotaku has an article on this, its worth a read. It also has a short note from Martin O’Donnel that people will appreciate.

Hey guys. I didn't know this thread existed at the time, nor did it occur to me to look here. I'm Owen Spence, or OS_Epsilon. Me and the Tlohtzin were the guys behind this. Just wanted to say we were honored this could reach so many people and we're very happy that Bungie released it themselves after 5 years. For now, I'll leave you with this. Last Bungie Day we released a video containing the first of Malcolm Guite's poetry. For those who don't know, this poetry was liner notes in the cancelled Music of the Spheres CD. It goes like this - I The moon is full and snow falls soft tonight In silver filigree. I seem to fall, Floating through the chapel of her light, The moon is full. The white lace of the snowfall makes a veil Through which I glimpse her face, a paler white, Whose pallor calls to me, a tidal pull That gathers in me, loosens, lifts the weight That palls and pulls me. In her light I feel Fasted and lifted, empty, open, light, The moon is full. II The moon is full and I have lost my way, Drawn down her mazy path towards my fall, Ready to swoon and sink beneath her sway. The moon is full. The tide of panic rises and I feel A dark fear that deletes the light of day. Her pale light wraps around me like a pall That pulls and blurs and blends and wipes away And drains the patterns from my mind, until She empties me and I can only say The moon is full. You can read more about it here - https://malcolmguite.wordpress.com/2018/07/07/the-music-of-the-spheres-a-poetic-adventure/

<Currently listening to it. Came in at 117 likes on the post. I don't know if I should add to it.>
-
Whichever idiot decided to cut up this game's story...
-
Bump. Merry Christmas to us indeed. Too bad it had to be leaked. Bungie lost a talented man. Guess Activi$ion was more important than quality and morals.
-
<Just listened to it... all of it. Tribulation and Ecstasy are my favorites. But the whole thing is just -blam!-ing beautiful, -blam!- the ending of Ecstasy almost made me cry. This shit brings up memories... and I guess I feel better because of it. Music really is a powerful thing.>

What sort of idiot thought it was a good idea to NOT use this in the game, geez.
-
...to thank Marty for this beautiful music they fired him.

Edited by vmondude: 12/29/2017 11:49:56 AMMartin O’Donnel can tell a story better with music than bungie can with a team of thousands! In fact that’s probably part of D2 lacking so much in atmosphere and immersion, simply because of the musics execution. The music is still really good, don’t get me wrong, but it often feels a disconnect from the story flow. It hasn’t got that consistent narrative quality like Marty was master of.

Ah Marty. The greatest composer who ever lived or ever will.
-
Remove Eververse
-
Bump this for not being more of that mindless nonsense on the forums.
-
You all better download this pretty soon because straight up they are going to take the video down so if you all want to continue listening to this awesome music download it now
-
See, here's where Bungie could make additional money in lieu of Eververse. I'd buy a vinyl of this without a second thought.
-
D1 music gives me goosebumps and fills me with nostalgia. Too bad that sweet nostalgia has be washed down with the bitter taste of the reality of Bungie's failure to deliver a worthy product.
-
Is it awesome? Someone say yes and be truthful.
-
There's another guy who did this as well. Pretty impressive that it's actually possible to compile
-
Just posting so I can find this later

After listening to Music of The Spheres by Martin O’Donnel, I feel what the word Destiny mean
-
Martin O’Donnel is practically God as a badass composer for music. He is like the touch of Jesus to a violin.
-
I’ve been meaning to check on Marty’s tweeter this week to see how it was coming along. This is good news.
-
Gave this a good listen and love the full versions of the excerpt songs. Loved "Excerpt of the Union" during the Black Garden final boss fight and the full version The Union is awesome
-
I've been listening to it. It's amazing stuff.

Edited by BigEvilSpider: 12/27/2017 3:00:49 AM*edit - Never mind. respondent below is correct. It's none of our business really. The only fact that remains is that Bungie is not recognisable anymore.
-
Beautiful...just...beautiful.
-
Wow this music is amazing. Bungievision really screwed up here by not adding this into the game. The new music for destiny 2 is so bad i play without it and listen to my own music but now i can just listen to this while playing. Shame on bungievision for not releasing this
-
Bump.. always loved Marty's work.
