There is a way to have micro transactions in the game without the gambling. HEAR ME OUT! OK?
Here's my solution to the gambling problem.
Here's what they could do, keep Bright Engrams as level up rewards ONLY. They give you whatever's in the seasonal reward pool.
Now, for the rest of the items. Have them be purchasable through BOTH Bright Dust and Silver. Bright Dust should obviously be priced a little higher, since you can acquire it through normal gameplay.
I mean, you probably don't want to spend 1000 Silver on a single item? It's too much. And yes, I know that legendary emotes cost about 800-1000 Silver in Destiny 1. It still felt a bit overpriced.
Let's say, if they made a Dawning armor set bundle for 1200-1500 Silver. At least you know that if you spent that much on it, then it would be guaranteed, and not a gamble.
Or they could remove Silver entirely and just keep Bright Dust as the main currency.
Before I end this post. I have a suggestion for how the screen could look, and it's very simple, when you preview a Bright Engram, that's it. Not that hard right? It keeps everything organized and easy to get to.
Or you know, they could remove micro transactions completely, since it's obviously not helping us in any way with new content whatsoever.
I mean, there's a lot of different ways that they could improve on Eververse, without hampering our game experience like this.

A great number of games have in-game micro-transactions. The only current game I can think of (non-F2P) that totally revolves around micro-transactions is Destiny 2.
There is a problem when the loot in a full price AAA game with paid DLC revolves around an outlet for micro-transactions.
Basically, not all micro-transactions are "evil" and some are even required as the sole means of income for a developer. That is NOT the case for Destiny 2.
The micro-transactions themselves are not the main issue, how Bungie has decided to implement and incorporate them into Destiny 2 IS the issue.
