If You Prefer D2 Crucible Over D1, You Are Likely A Scrub.
D1 Crucible was for the skilled. A fun and complex movement system, quick killing weapons that would punish those who didn't have good aim. D1 crucible was mostly 6v6 and 3v3. The TTK was low so that if your enemies were bad enough you could wipe all of them off the field simply with your aim. However, in D2 that's just not possible. The high TTK of the weapons in D2 require a teamshotting playstyle, because otherwise before you can kill one enemy you will be pelted to death by 4x as many bullets.
You could say that teamshotting was possible in D1 but it just didn't work that way for a myriad of reasons.
#1: Supers were much more frequent, staying close to eachother gave the enemy a huge advantage allowing them to get far more bang for their buck.
#2: Grenades were much more frequent and deadly. One skillfully placed tripmine could kill an entire team if they were too close to eachother (I've seen this happen a couple of times personally).
#3: Heavy ammo dropped for EVERYONE and you were able to pickup enemy heavy that was lost when they died. Proximity detonated rocket launchers meant nobody wanted to be close to a teammate.
#4: Map's were larger and had better sight lines which meant that staying in a pile would likely have yourself shot from all angles.
#5: Low TTK
All of these things are what made Destiny 1 crucible have the playstyle that it did. Without these things we wouldn't have the same crucible we all know and love. And unfortunately we see what that looks like. It looks like Destiny 2's crucible. A bland, uninteresting, un-fun wasteland of teamshotting where the skill required is minimal.
And for those who may doubt my skill I have roughly a 1.83 in Trials Of The Nine and 21x Flawlesses.
By no means is that amazing, but its good enough so as you know I am no scrub.
EDIT: I have not played Destiny 1, Year 3. I played on a "legacy console" so I couldn't play year 3. And although I could have repurchased the game which was 2/3's through its life cycle, I didn't think it was worth it.

Idc how old this is I just played some d1 crucible for the first time since d2 launch and I hace two words, super fights. I miss these the action of d1, was more lone hero than seal team 6. I was a big fan of the seamless transition between group play and one man army.

Im garbage at d1 pvp but love it. I was running a colavances duty duty with max range and a side arm as a secondary in salvage.All was going well until i kept running into a skilled max agility hunter with a zhalo super cell rushing the capture points. Ended up having to swap back to a longe range auto and sniper. You don't get those unique match ups in d2 crucible.

Those are not the issues with D2 crucible. The main issue is that you cannot click one button and play clash, which is a standard for FPS matchmaking. The supers aren't a problem, you just have to play well and pick up orbs to get a second super. Heavy ammo dropping for everyone is way too much. It was necessary for Bungie to prevent the situation where a team gets both heavies. Bungie just needs to include the industry standards in matchmaking.... like Halo 2.... 4v4 for small maps (Slayer) and 8v8 for large maps (Big Team Battle).

I think that was a big problem with D1. Communication and teamwork. All these type of post trend this way. “ I was awesome in D1, D2 teamwork is too OP for me to solo. D2 Crucible is clearly, no if’s nor buts. All about teamwork over heroics. That being said. IF you were/are not a scrub. Shouldn’t you still be winning your 1v1? Sure smaller maps and ammo restrictions might make it harder to bring down people in scenarios like you illustrated above but that’s the point right? 2 or more lesser opponents over coming a single opponent by communicating? Seems like D2 actually respects the solo player more this time around to me. D1 was about cheesing and bs tactics in almost all aspects of the game. Bungie finally tries to develop a team based shooter ( news flash! It’s always supposed to be one! #fireteams) and your upset that you can’t out kill 2-4 guys all shooting at you at once? Seems like you need to figure out how to throw a grenade or idk fall back and try a different tactic then the Run and Gun strategy you so clearly are using. L2P noob or maybe find some friends.

You didn’t play yr3? So you really don’t know how bad PvP got trying to even things out due to community complaints and wants as well as community abuse of tactics and items. Things people were the most tired of have been removed. Easy mode ones shot weapons on spawn, ability spam (stickies & Nightstalker “wombo combo” etc), heavy for everyone leading to a -blam!- session for the other team. We did this to ourselves through direct and indirect feedback. It’s one of those things where if it was to your advantage you loved it. But if it wasn’t you hated it. Community wanted more gunplay and less spam and one shot items. We got it. Are there still other issues, yes. But at least in this meta I don’t feel like some bum got the better of me just because they were hiding with a shotgun (which in most games is a power weapon pick up due to its one hit ability) or had a stickie ready every 25 seconds. I usually got outshot or out maneuvered. I’d rather that happen than what used to before. It’s not for everyone and that’s fine.

Those that defend D2 have yet to realize nobody is playing crucible and not even trials!! That speaks volumes as to which crucible was better...D1!! Way higher skill ceiling in D1 and thats just the truth and obviously way more fun!

You made 2 very big mistakes that clearly say you are the scrub. 1: Low TTK - Means you have shit aim. 2: Teamshotting where the skill required is minimal - Winning outweighs K/D everytime. Those would get you laughed out of any E-sport event you were in. You're just mad D2 was made for Esports and your realizing just how bad you really are. FYI both crucibles are for scrubs. Skilled players play anything but Destiny. @GGS

It required the same if not even less skill than D2. Doesn't matter how good you are when all a shit kid has to do is hit LB in your general direction to get a trade with a Fusion. Also GJ on posting your stats like that actually means anything.

I’m by no means the best, but I have been playing since vanilla. Thorn, the last whore, sticky nades, OG OP Sunbreakers, Felwinter’s Orbital Cannon. The list goes on for a while.

I mean, I put up decent numbers in D1 (excluding the 2 month period I was severely concussed, as well as the following 5 months in which I was still experiencing symptoms to my reaction time), but I don't even have to try in D2 it seems.
