You act like you've been, or are being, robbed by buying D2 and playing it. . . . and that is so untrue. Again, your choice, everybody's choice. Nobody has to buy it. Nobody has to play it. Personally I have fun playing it and just roll with the game and it's choices . . . like a million other people. If I hated what Bungie has done to this game I would choose NOT to play it or buy into it anymore, and then move on.

  • Dude I haven’t gave Activision/Bungie a penny towards D2; not base game or the DLC and for that reason only I’ll quite happily continue to play it until I get all three capped then move on. I knew it would be a cluster -blam!- after bungie couldn’t get D1 right in 6 years. I’m simply pointing out that so long as people like you that keep throwing money at these micro transactions they will continue to appear in games and eventually get far worse. Luckily consoles aren’t the be all end all in life so it suits me just fine 👍🏼

  • Well, as of right now, I've still never purchased anything with real money at Eververse. My intention to do so was simply to use my "right" to choose to do so. Many games these days are doing this, and many more to come will be doing it as it is a viable way for the developers and publishers to continue providing support, upgrades, updates, and new dlc (that they will also charge players for). They are supposed to make money. They have to make money. Current players, and potential players of such games, that are infuriated by the realities of games with continuing costs will need to find and play games that aren't involved in these practices. It may be a sad state of affairs . . . but it's true.

  • Fair enough but That’s just like cutting off you’re nose to spite your face. Spending money and justifying bungie choice to put micro transactions in just because you can is mental. I agree micro transactions are here to stay but it’s nothing to do with the cost of maintaining games or we’d just have monthly subscriptions but having said that then they’d need to make the game great to keep that subscription coming which Destiny 2 just isn’t.

  • Good point. What if it was a subscription base game? Would it be a better game then? Would people pay the subscription price to get rid of micro-transactions? I'd do it either way, but if it was a subscription we would have no choice but to pay to keep playing. Right now you can keep playing without ever paying for a micro-transaction. My opinion is that how it is now is better.

  • It’s like comparing apples and oranges to be fair bud. Both are viable but they’d have to put a lot more effort into a game to keep people paying but they would. I played PSU back in the day paying £7.99 per month and I loved it. Never had to play it 24/7 to keep up. The problem is transparency. If the micro transactions were needed for the up keep of the game and they said “look guys we’ve got no choice, we’ll try not to stick all the really cool stuff in there but we need to do something to keep the game running” there wouldn’t be as much of an uproar (yeah some whiney shits will still moan) as having a whole event based on it; put all the loot from said event on eververse and limiting the amount of engrams you can earn.
