Errr no you are wrong I’m afraid. No it’s not the other 78% of the launch playerbase, that has given up after 3 months. As apposed to Destiny 1 that did just over 3 YEARS with a totally hooked playerbase, disgruntled yes, but loving the game! Try putting 45 days play time in on one of 3 characters on D1. No it must be ALL their problems, not yours at all in the slightest. See comment I explained the sheer deceit of bungie: It isn’t just Eververse purchases that are the problem. The entire game is geared to drive you through Eververse. Every single dull looking piece of armour, every dull looking weapon (even with shaders they look flat) every “exotic” ship, sparrow or ghost. Every time the system figures out what you’re chasing from your free bright engrams and denies dropping it for you. It’s all to tempt you and eventually make you give in and buy some silver. Even if it’s only once, they’ve won. It’s the only form of levelling up in the entire game that has any kind of satisfaction, that you gain anything from! Light level does nothing, armour sets look boring and have no perks. Weapons have no noticeable perks, most exotics are just yellow items, shaders are consumable, supers and grenades take forever to charge and don’t feel “super”, even brights are slow and unfulfilling. So what is left? Yup... That shiny stuff locked behind Eververse. There’s a lot of us who will NOT give bungie more money. But there are plenty who do unfortunately. If the game was better maybe people wouldn’t mind. But when you don’t want to play the game cos it’s a joke why buy silver. Lol

  • I agree , somewhat. I played d1 from launch. When eververse came around it was for live event funding. I bought some silver in d1 early. Then it seemed like more and more items became locked behind a pay wall with eververse. I have not and will not since the festival of the lost in d1 that locked all the good stuff behind a pay wall. In d2 I still refuse to buy silver. Only because I feel I play enough to earn a bright engram enough. I put no value in what eververse hast to offer and just really enjoy playing with my friends I have made from d1 and met in d2. And most of us group in Friday nights so I’ll not be joining a Friday boycott at all.

  • No same here. I think I bought silver once in D1 and that’s it. The fact that they can release such badly built content behind such shady marketing schemes is just so sickening I’ve completely lost respect in what bungie have become. In Destiny 1 I had a few pages of friends all online playing Destiny regularly. That then carried over to D2 quite well number wise. But now, about 3 people still play D2 on my list. I won’t be playing it again I’ll play D1 as it was at least enjoyable but. D2 is an insult

  • I’m my gameplay, I get a bright engram every 45 minutes-1 hour, no matter what I’m doing. And that’s all I really need. The Eververse loot isn’t that enticing, and I have more ghost shells than I know what to do with. I’m satisfied with the bright engram. So.....whatever, you entitled millennial.

No mate I ain’t no millennial brat. I just know the difference between a well built game and a lightweight marketing experiment. Destiny 2 is as little of D1 as it can be, with almost no acknowledgement to the previous 3 year long and much loved game. A sequel is supposed to build upon its predecessor with thoughtful and progressive improvements. Yet, instead it has less than half the options of D1, half the features, more stock added at Eververse than new free stuff, (ridiculous amount of re-skins not included), and the gameplays been slowed to the point of sleep. If that’s what you call value for money then you’re mad. As if the millions they already make isn’t enough, they still put more work and creativity into Eververse inventory than the new free loot they add to the game. Again not including re-skins, that’s not creativity. Like the endless amount of ships that are the same yet have a different shader and name. That’s just an outright insult.

That's 812 per year considering D1 was out for 3 years. That's 67 hours per month considering that there is 12 months in a year. 259 hours total across all of your D2 characters. D2 hasn't technically been out for 5 months yet, but just for arguments sake let's say it was. That's 51 hours a month that you spend playing D2. Realistically the end numbers are not that far off. Especially considering that you were exploring Nessus only 2 days ago. Sources: https://destinytracker.com/d2/profile/psn/vmondude https://www.wastedondestiny.com/search/vmondude

  • Yeah well I still gave it a chance dude, I got suckered by all the lies and bought the pre-order expansion pass like so many others. Regrettably. But Osiris just summed it up for me. And the other day I wanted to see what dawning was dropping and trying to get a Masterworks. They rarely drop and are almost unnoticeably different apart from orbs. I won’t play it again until/if there is major work done. It’s just a dumbed down shadow of D1 with everything enjoyable removed. And it’s not like D1 was even “amazing” over all. But compared to D2, D1 feels more like the sequel!

  • "It is totally unhealthy that you enjoy D2 and have done the Raid this much. I put FORTY days worth of time into D1 and was mindlessly hooked on that grind." WTF are you smoking?!

You talking to OP I take it? I can’t stand D2. Yeah me too, 45 hours on one of my 3 characters. Similar number on one of the others too! Crazy. Fur fun. D2... not so much.

  • I am suggesting that this community had an unhealthy addiction to D1. The fact that D2 does not fill that addiction and a lot of people are left wanting is not a bad thing.

Plus it’s not unhealthy to enjoy a game. It is however unhealthy for your brain to actually believe there’s nothing wrong with Destiny 2.

Not when the game costs money to buy and then charges again for dlc and anything “special” the game has to offer.

  • So are you boycotting all games with a shop inside the game and dlc’s you have to buy? Because if you are then your a hypocrite

Don’t worry you obviously haven’t done much research about just how bad it’s gotten. Bungie have pulled some really shady shit with this game pretty much EA level at some points and it’s really sad that bungies gone this way. Eververse was introduced to fund the live team for events with all the new costumes, sparrow racing, horns n stuff. Now the live events are just snowballs and more Eververse inventory. Mayhem doesn’t count we’ve had that for 3 years in D1

Who honestly cares about PlayStation trophies very rare trophies are owned by almost all players. That isn’t rare if you ask me so it obviously means bugger all. Besides vanilla D1 was a very love or hate situation. But the base game in there was fun and enjoyable. D2 is about as exciting to play as a grey wall is to look at. People came back to D1 and stayed. They won’t stay for D2

  • les look at some trophies that "everyone" has: 36% equipped an exotic. (lol) 25% had full legendary gear. (lol) 29% hit rank 3 in crucible. (lol) 33% got gold on a PE. 21% cleared VoG/CE 62% completed a strike. 17% upgraded a subclass. 26% upgraded a legendary weapon. most of those are pretty simple to complete. most players were gone by then. now let's look at returning players: 18% unlocked the 3rd subclass 9% completed KF raid. 5% completed WoTM so yeah... the playerbase dropped off dramatically since launch and continued for the next 3 years.
