les look at some trophies that "everyone" has:
36% equipped an exotic. (lol)
25% had full legendary gear. (lol)
29% hit rank 3 in crucible. (lol)
33% got gold on a PE.
21% cleared VoG/CE
62% completed a strike.
17% upgraded a subclass.
26% upgraded a legendary weapon.
most of those are pretty simple to complete. most players were gone by then.
now let's look at returning players:
18% unlocked the 3rd subclass
9% completed KF raid.
5% completed WoTM
so yeah...
the playerbase dropped off dramatically since launch and continued for the next 3 years.

I’ll upvote that just because it made me chuckle uncontrollably!!

You forgot to put on your rose tinted glasses! D1 was utopian!

Yes but no one over 15 really cares about trophies. So they weren’t bothered about doing the later raids if they didn’t want to. A lot of people didn’t rate the kings fall onward raids. Same goes for the subclasses, if you’re happy with the original 2 and aren’t interested in the 3rd why bother unlocking it. A lot of people didn’t. I think I used the 3rd classes a grand total of 10 times

you're missing the point. the trophies show how much of the player base completed simple achievements. and it also shows how many left early on. also, i don't care about trophies, but i did see a lot of post requesting a refund because they couldn't unlock trophies/achievements after CoO was release and Bungie fixed that issue. so obviously "someone" cares. lastly, it doesn't matter if you used the 3rd subclass once or 1,000 times. 18% of the player base unlocking the 3rd subclass is sad.

Edited by vmondude: 1/3/2018 12:46:00 AMNo I wasn’t saying it mattered how many times I used it, just saying I hated and didn’t care about it. And a lot of people didn’t care for them so stuck to the other two. So didn’t unlock, hence no trophy. Anyway doesn’t matter, my point was a lot more people played D1. D2 has lost everyone already and a lot don’t seem like they will come back simply in disgust of bungievision
