Chapter Two - The Wrath of the Lion
Closed.
Bells. Ringing, over and over and over.
It made Armillion's head throb. It made him tighten his fist, his old, rugged fingernails digging into grisly, strong palms. It made his face tie back into an angered scowl, like a lion baring his fangs in the face of a rival to his throne.
Only, this rival had took his son.
The Golden King left his mighty keep with the haste of a brewing storm, as his four - no, now rendered to three - golden knights would accompany his side. His cape fluttered in the brewing winds as he walked, down those high stairs and down to the city, where the common man and woman had begun to wait in their panic.
Their king stood upon a podium, resting his large fists upon it's marbled surface as the crowds of gossip fell silent. Though that King would not wait for such silence. No, he would release his rage, here and there.
"-My youngest son. Taken from his home, and captured by this hidden enemy, enclosed within the maws of evil.
My knightess, Camella. Taken from her duty and rendered to a hospital bed, poison swelling her heart and holding back her justice.
My youngest daughter. My eldest son. The men and women of Trayve. Your fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, sons, and daughters - slain or taken by this Tribune!
Yet, even in darkness, we shall not falter. We shall grab this evil Tribune by the throat and strangle it, and for every death that they have caused, we will return it sevenfold! For every murder they have committed, we will unleash justice with more fury than they could imagine!
Today is a day of lions, not sheep! Today is a day of reckoning! Today is the day that we will show these filth what war truly is!"
Such fury was an unrelenting, terrifying thing.

Cain and Lilly soon found themselves upon a carriage, amongst a massive caravan of soldiers, with mighty ships following in the rivers beside them. They would have to travel continents, in order to reach their destination. Sparking conversation and understanding the situation at hand. Additionally, gathering info on the land would be beneficial.

David had an invitation.
Armillion had requested to meet the Titan again, only this time with Camella amongst them. He had quite literally asked the Titan to meet his partner, to investigate what had happened in the first place.

"Kinda my mom. It's complicated. You see, her and I are from alternate realities. One is where my siblings and I were born as her children. But the one I recieved the letter from is a version of her from a different reality, where my father died," David explained, or attempted to. "According to this letter, Tribune isn't exactly who we think they are, Oliver might have been captured for a different reason than to piss off Armillion, and now Oliver and Sarah are running away to her reality for obvious reasons." Then he read the bottom line, "I need to build someone a prosthetic hand. Great. Well, at least that gives me something to do in my free time."
-
"...okay." Camella would then mutter, as she was gripping the side of her bed silently. She would sigh, then shaking her head. One could tell that Camella was angry, with how she was reduced to lying in a bed over a poisoning. "Do not tell the King. You understand that. Right now.. we'll have to focus on Julian's disappearance and these assassins. Political enemies are.. oddly likely, to be honest."
-
"Julian disappeared?" David asked, "I had no idea." He seemed rather surprised at this. "I think that is the last of Trayven children. Whoever's calling the shots will either being going after Lionguard, or Armillion himself," he realized.
-
"Exactly. Arthur's disappeared, Isabella's controlling the army, Oliver's safe.. I think, Niki's still gone, Freya's crippled, and now Julian.. it's a stratagem to dig one's claws into the king. You and I were attacked.. a framing of Armillion? It was clear that he had some distaste for you.." Camella sighed, shaking her head.
-
"Not many people would attack for no reason. Since this heirachy is so corrupted, someone wants to eliminate, the king's heirs, guards, and then the king himself. To rise to power."
-
"Who, then? The Tribune? Murder ruins their cause, and they depict themselves as heroes.. No, it has to be a politician of some kind. There are a few that I know that would want something like this to happen.. I could try to help, though I'm useless in combat with.." Camella tried moving her arm, only to cry out in pain. "...useless."

Edited by Splashback77: 1/14/2018 12:22:26 AM"I'll take up that duty," he promised, "I will find out who is doing this, as my priority." "I swear on my mother's sword," he spoke, holding the Dark-Drinker. Amethyst chuckled, "Hehehe... Duty." "Don't start, Ame," David warned.
-
"Thank you, Daniel. I have no doubts that you'll succeed, though.. I can help still, I think. Armillion still has his advisors amongst him, specifically at his weekly or emergency councils. Pontiff Latrans as the king's chosen priestess, Lupus managing finances, Hyaenis being a political advisor, and.. Armillion now heads the army, with Arthur's disappearance and the sister's in your Tatakai." Camella sighed.
-
He seemed annoyed at being called Daniel. David huffed. "Huh. So you can remember that, but not my name?" he questioned.
-
"They're.. similar. You're the only David I know.. please don't break my other arm."
-
He chuckled, "I'm not cruel. Sure, I've broken someone'ribs before back when I was young, before I was a guardian, but that was a special case, and a story for another day."
-
"Ha.. I didn't take you for the cruel type, though you seem endowed and capable for such feats. Anyhow.. you should get going. We rely on you, to save the prince from.. whatever and whoever has taken him."
-
"We have to find out who, anyone in paticuluar who hates Julian?" David asked.
-
"Latrans has always loved Julian. As for Lupus.. he does not at all. Hyaenis is rather indecisive about it. Odd.. four suspects, if you.. consider the king. One of religion, one of wealth, one of correct action, and one of monarchy. I say that, as.. well, Armillion orchestrating this would influence the people to take up arms, would it not?" Camella questioned.
-
"I would not place it past him," David admitted. Amethyst put up a life size hologram of Oliver's right hand, with measurement of exact accuracy-- data courtsey of Seraph. He looked to the hologram. David sighed. "I could pull favors with Cassoid foundry for a hard to destroy alloy," he muttered.
-
"Hm. Warfare would benefit both the economy and the king.. we could be onto something here." Camella wondered, shaking her head. "Another excuse to bolster our production of swords and armor.. find out what you can, at the council meeting this afternoon."
-
"Yes, ma'am," David replied.
-
"Ma'am.. I'm hardly a ma'am. Just a cripple. You.. should get going."
-
"I know." He looked to Camella, "I hope you can recover, quickly."
-
"Yeah.. um.." Camella blushed a little, shrugging at that. She sat up, sighing. "You, uh.. get going, I guess. Thank you, though. For stopping by."
-
"I'll visit again, when I can," David promised. He really was starting to like her. Maybe not romantically, but she was a good person. He left her room. Amethyst followed, "I still think you like her." "I don't like like her," David replied. "You keep telling yourself that, Mr. McNamara. How do you think your dad met your mom?"
-
Timeskip!
The Palace, The Council Room David would find himself almost late to the meeting, while Armillion welcomed him freely. Though he still seemed angered - saddened, even. "David. Good afternoon. Take a seat, we're beginning soon anyhow.." David would find that the seating of the table was.. most unique. A long table, but the inhabitants had already taken seats: a robed woman, elderly yet smiling as if she were a child, sat to the left of Armillion, while another, a middle-aged, dark haired man, sat next to her, adorned in political robes. Yet all the way at the end of the table, beside the aged man and yet, purposefully away from them, was a bearded man, jewelry and wealth lining his robes. Pontiff Latrans, Hyaenis the advisor, and Lupus the banker. None sat across from Armillion, however, while an empty seat - no, two empty seats sat to Armillion's right. Where Arthur and Isabella would sit, likely. "Sit wherever you please. We need to start, anyway.."
-
David took the seat across from Armillion. "Alright," he nodded. He sat down.
-
"Alright.. Hyaenis?" Armillion began, as the politician nodded. "The city's been locked down, entirely. Trade routes are cut off, caravans are being searched, alongside their passengers. A city-wide search is being lead, from the palace to the sewers. And yet, nothing." "Nothing, yet." Armillion muttered. "...Could Julian's kidnapping and David's assault be related, though?"
-
David would speak, "It most likely would seem it would be. But... we have no evidence of any connection avalible."
