"-everything that isn't above a threshold of consistent and elegant design is kicked to the curb"

Phew, so I stumbled upon GameInformer's Destiny 2 Feature piece in their magazine, issue 291, and if yall want to laugh you should take a read. The first words "Anytime we put a number on the box, we will start fresh" "Every time we launch an integer, it will always be this way. We're going to change things fundamentally, every time. " Good news, next Destiny will be completely different, which may have it's benefits. The con, I bought into this as a 10 year series, it became very evident they scrapped that after learning what we could carry over from the first game. If we were more observant, we may have seen this coming, (Especially since the game was rated T, which is a complete indication they were marketing to a younger audience who doesn't buy the game, and want to leverage as much money as possible out of that audience because they will spend their parents money, hello eververse.) 2 paragraphs later... And the best quote "In multiple contexts, I hear Smith and Noseworthy insist on a no-compromises approach to Destiny 2; whether it's a system returning from the first game , or something brand new, the focus is on making sure that no one thing in the new game is just okay,- everything that isn't above a threshold of consistent and elegant design is kicked to the curb." I don't think I need to add anything to that one.. ""There is no grimoire on the website in Destiny 2" Noseworthy says " But in no way is it our intent to get rid of deep lore in the game, we just want to put it in the game."" The story and lore from this iteration could make up all of 5 grimoire cards.. I'll give it to them, they added Asher Mir, and Osiris, but how much "lore" do we actually get from them.. ? The lore in this version is as deep as the shallow end of the kids pool. "Destinations also take on addede dimension through Lost Sectors. "Lost sectors are basically like findable dungeonsin the world, with cool bosses at the end, with a key that opens a treasure chest," Smith says ...What? Have you completed a dungeon in this game compared to ANY other MMORPG (which this game isn't, but was marketed as one) . That isn't a boss one chest in each planet will give you a "unique"(blue) symbol. This is all the first 2 and a half pages. "We believe we've made a PVP offering in Destiny 2 that is more readable, more watchable, and more competitive" Smith says Readable, WTF? More competitive? By pigeon holing the diverse options that gave players identity and forcing a large majority of the base to use 4 weapons, and 1 of the 2 subclasses for each of the 3 classes. Now my point of view on this is subjective, I still use whatever load out I want, which isn't the meta but I am not in the majority there, it's very apparent. I believe diveristy, and the more options drives competition, not the other way around. So just a disagreement but from what I gathered I felt some would scaugh at this. "Bungie's growing focus on community engagement is reminiscent of another developer's fervent efforts. Blizzard... "We are going to be welcoming the Blizzard community into the Destiny Universe" Smith Says "There's a common ground. We are trying to build (uhh thanks, it's not like we haven't supported this game and all the **** that's been pulled since Vanilla) an amazing audience and community with Destiny, and that's true of every game that Blizzard does." Slap in the face to the people who supported D1, to me at least. Your not Blizzard, you never will be, get over yourself. I supported Bungie since Halo Combat Evolved, after CS, I went this avenue and have always supported them until this. You make great FPS shooters, which this game, strictly as a FPS shooter, is fantastic, but as anything else.. I can compare myself to Michael Jordan all I want but that don't make me him. Stick to shooter's bro-gie. Look the only reason this game was made T, was to implement the Eververse grift. Not only that, I believe that has lead the game to be simplified to the point a 3 year old would get bored playing this. It's remarkably easy, the missions are sooo simple that it's just boring. I played hundreds of hours of PVP in D1, and that was my draw, but when I got bored I went to the PVE, play some strikes go back to kicking tail. Now, my roomate has found me asleep after last thing i remembered, I was jumping into PVE. But I digress, if y'all wan't to laugh, just read that Gameinformer article, I may go look for more gold on what was promised prior to release because of this. Just thought I should share, I am with you community, I was in denial at first, and willing to give them the benefit of the doubt even though the obvious cash grabs, but as something I cared about and invested so much time in has turned into this, bleh gross, you took advantage of the fact that being rated T would be an easy avenue to steal money from parents who bought their kids this game and that's just sad. At least give us something in return

 • I fully agree. They’ve had years’ worth of data on their own playerbase to figure out how to design a game that we’d all want, but then they throw this sad excuse at us. They took all the bad things we could hate, threw it into the game, slapped on some trailers and pizazz to hype it all up.
