Finally Forged My Last Weapon and Got the Sagira Shell
The grind was real, and most of the weapons aren't that great ( Where in the hell is the Osiris themed rocket launcher?? ), but it kept me going. The Sagira shell looks pretty cool though.
The weapon forging is pretty shallow at the moment, but I would like to see it implemented on a much larger scale.
Every planetary location should have some sort of unique forge. In order to unlock it, it could be opened up after completing a special strike or something. Maybe, completing a prestige version of that same strike could unlock even more items available from that particular forge. Each planetary forge would have its own look and theme. Some locations could do weapons, some could do armor. This could be switched up every couple of seasons or so.
I also posted recently about how the Farm should be utilized as a location to forge ships and sparrows.
I would like to see the actual forging system itself be retooled to work more like the cooking system in the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Add more planetary materials into the game, let the player pick out what to throw into the forge, and just see what happens. The community would have to test what combos produce better gear.
I know it's not that easy to make happen, but I think it would be pretty awesome.
I should be able to insert glimmer, shards, cores, planetary materials, tokens, Cayde's odds and ends, and whatever else I find into a forge.
