"Garin Fohrik."
The two were both slightly put off by Drake's demeanor, and as Eve started to reach for her coat pocket, she said something else.
"I have a photo, too."
She handed it to him. The picture showed Garin, Drake, Winchester, and the rest of the crew on board the new luxury liner Drake had captured mere weeks earlier.

Drake audibly put something back in what sounded like a pocket (but was probably a holster) as he reached forward to grab the photo with one hand. He frowned when he saw it, recognizing the date, but left with so many questions. Thankfully, he'd calmed down, whatever potential misunderstanding that had arose was rectified. "Garin... Your father was quite something. Still not quite sure as to what. Bit of a spaz, but he was a good man, up until he stabbed us in the back." Drake looked up at Eve, his tone still easygoing. He put the picture on the table and slid it back to her. "He mentioned a daughter before, but I can't say he ever told me your name, or where you were born. I didn't choose to pry then, but I'm interested now."

"He didn't actually get married and everything until after his 'betrayal'. He would always tell me that that was his biggest regret: turning on his friends. And, well..." She stood up, Kris following suit as she offered her hand. "I'm here to right his wrongs, so to speak. I've been waiting 22 years for this, Drake... It'd be my pleasure, and my father's, to be able to call you captain."
-
Drake remained silent for a while. To be quite honest, this was a surprising turn of events, and his mind was still reeling from the potential implications. Thankfully, his mouth was always a step ahead of his brain. "What about your friend here?" He gestured at Kris with his prosthetic hand, almost dismissively, "He want a job too?"
-
Kris shrugged. "If you could use some extra muscle, I could come along too. I'm great with any firearm and better in a fighter. I could help with scuffles during an op, persuasion of informants or other targets... that sort of thing."

Drake nodded approvingly, and then returned his attention to Even, "And what about you? Besides honoring a debt, I mean. Do you have any particular skills?"

Good with a sword, firearms, better than him in a fighter- and that's saying something - excel in infiltration, something my father particularly sucked ass at... and this." Eve was gone from Drake's sight until he felt a tap on his shoulder. "My dad had it too, supposedly."

Edited by GingerlyWalnut3: 1/17/2018 2:44:50 AMDrake didn't even bother giving her a glance, as he was rather used to the whole teleportation trick at this point. That wasn't to say that he was not impressed by their skillsets. He nodded, "Honestly, we've been a bit short on manpower lately, and I'll take just about anything or anyone I can get. Having some people with skills wouldn't be the worst thing I could have." He finally stands up, remembering that the two never introduced themselves formally. "But this is all going a little bit too quickly for my tastes. First off, I wanna know your names, or at least an alias. Then, I wanna know if you've got any affiliations with a faction, foreign or otherwise. Then... I'll consider."

"Well Alpha, since I'm sure you're just dying to have your old buddy's kids on the ship, I've got a spare room on the ship for 'em." Drake said sarcastically, not knowing if Eve had ever learned of the enmity between the former goat and her father. From the context of that remark, she could probably tell that it wasn't stellar. But Drake was impulsive, and this move would be his way of allowing Garin to have some semblance of redemption, even in death. He turned back to the duo, "Well, it doesn't pay well, and the crew's a bunch of jackasses, but if you insist, I'll let you guys in." The "no questions asked" policy had always been a risky one, but it was a tactic that Drake had learned from one of his former captains. Quite frankly, as long as his crew performed, he wasn't usually one to pry about one's past. Knowledge was a burden, one that he didn't necessarily need. The fact that he knew so much about the current members was a testament to their friendship. "I'll take you to the ship when you're ready to leave."

Eve slapped a few coins into the counter and finished her drink. "Let's go, then." Eve reached into her pockets, then extended her hand again for a formal joining of the crew. She nodded ever so slightly towards her hand.

"Drake, you're not serious?" Alpha said, scoffing "You're gonna let them in?"
