Okay, first let's start with a little story. For a pretty long time there was this mmo that was and still is the world's largest and longest surviving mmo. World of Warcraft. They started fairly big for the game at the time and as they grew they introduced many of new and exciting things to do within their world. One being and focusing on PvP. Now by no means was their PvP battlegrounds and arena the epitome of multiplayer PvP. But it worked with the game instead of against it.
Later the same company would branch off into a more focused PvP world. Overwatch was born. The game takes about any aspect you can think of when it comes to an fps and tries to fit it in properly. So far, they haven't really messed up. I would say it's the best PvP oriented fps out there.
What does any of this have to do with Bungie and it's baby Destiny. They can make a better game if they split it into two. The base game feels like it could be an amazing open world but what I feel is holding it back is the large crucible focus they're also trying to give to people. It's hard to try to blend the two without one being lopsided by more things to do.
This game needs to be subscription based for this to work properly and honestly take my money for this because I've been wanting to play WoW on my Xbox for the longest time but if I can have an mmo fps that's close and brings me to a world just as rich in detail. I'll take it. And then when I get bored I did my duty for the day.
I can hop into crucible and do some awesome PvP that isn't inhibited by this vast world that's being made. And it can have everything that a PvP fps should have and more. Maybe a horde mode. Maybe even a glitch in the system of the Infinite Forrest that takes me and my fireteam to the past during some huge battle and we get to see a short (hourish) story of how things came to be. Maybe even seeing from the eyes of the enemy.
Just a suggestion. This games fault isn't eververse at all. It's the fact that it feels like you're trying to put 10lbs of shit in a 5lb bag. Split equally give them their own teams. Make good content and make good money. That's the smart thing to do. And the funny thing is you can do this model with literally anything. Even Call of Duty.
