So I’ve been seeing a lot of buzz recently about both these games that have been highly anticipated for a while now. The main thing I’ve noticed though is that most of the buzz around Cyberpunk is rumor and speculation from fans with no real hype coming from CDPR themselves, but Death Stranding is being hyped to hell by Kojima himself.
We know basically nothing about either one, but based off of how CDPR is staying quiet I would say they seem more confident in their game and it will probably turn out better.
Death Stranding is showing all the signs of past hype trains that have crashed and burned.
Edit: To clarify, I’m asking which one you think will end up being great, or which one will be better.
Edit 2: I’m seeing a pattern in some of the replies. I realize they are two different games. I’ll repost this reply
They are different games, yes, but there are similarities so far that I felt were interesting enough to compare.
For instance, both are highly anticipated, being hyped a lot, coming from respected devs but potentially very different from anything they’ve ever done, futuristic/sci fi games, and potentially both are RPGs.
I agree with sentiments below that both are fantastic devs who haven't told is anything solid about thier titles so forming any opinion will be pure speculation or fandom for your personal favorite. However thematically I prefer the Lovecraft-ian themes present in Death Stranding over the Cyberpunk setting. Much like my interest in AC Syndicate & my preference of Bloodborne over Dark Souls. Robots are cool, playing around with the sanctity of sentient AI is a thoughtful endeavor. But the terror of intangible entities, Extradimensional travel and straight up horror intrigues me more.
