Traci swung the sword, slicing at the woman's forearms as to cut them off and cripple her. She didn't want to kill her, she wanted her to suffer.

Traci succeeded, as the woman's thin arms were cleaved off, accompanied by pained shrieks as she fell to the ground. She cradled the bloodied stumps of what remained, pushing herself away from Traci while she was on the ground pathetically.
-
The emotionless and silent Traci walked slowly forwards, stabbing the sword down into the woman's stomach before twisting it and pulling it back out. She then cleaved at the neck, to cut off the head.
-
The woman screamed and lurched forwards, her entrails twisting around the blade's end as she cried out in utter agony. Blood coated the weapon's blade, as a final gurgle left her throat. "Lady.. Isabella.." And then, her head was lopped from her shoulders, rolling off of the side of the wall and into the depths of the city beneath. At that moment, Ragnarok, of which had destroyed the remainder of Khaom's military, landed upon a tall watchtower and turned it's gaze towards Traci. It was.. silent. Observant.
-
Traci wiped the mess off of her sword before sheathing it, gazing up at the dragon. She had a crazed look in her eye, as if she had gone off the deep end and was currently fighting to keep her sanity. The girl remained still for a few moments until randomly throwing her hands up into the air. "WHAT DO YOU WANT?! I might be alone, but I sure as hell can still take down another dragon if I try hard enough!" She wasn't afraid of the dragon, but she was scared of something.
-
Ragnarok, as in such close proximity to her, looked almost surprised at Traci's abrupt outburst. It's head lurched forwards, yet it's throat remained black and silenced, it's noise loudly snuffing the air in Traci's direction. Something.. familiar. Something off. Those glazing red eyes studied the woman'a decapitated corpse next to Traci, before then finding the redhead.
-
Traci stared up at the dragon, gradually shifting her anger to curiosity. She was rather confused by the dragon's lack of aggression at the moment. She expected it to have attacked her by now. "What...are you?"
-
Ragnarok's head continued to approach, until it was only a few feet away from Traci. It had now clambered onto her portion of the wall, it's hulking being towering over her own figure, at a height of several stories tall. Decently large, really. It sniffed and studied her, almost as if recognizing Traci, and as it almost "spoke" with a surprisingly soft gurgle, it would soon turn to horror. Ragnarok suddenly cried out in agony as it reared away from Traci, a *thunk!* ringing through the air as a large shard of blackened rock slammed into it's side, blood gushing out from it's waist area. And the one who fired.. A terrified Rue.
-
"WAIT!" Traci waved over to Rue. "I think it's trying to talk!"
-
"LIZ, JUST.." Rue seemed to be sobbing, terrified that she would lose her sister, and even as she loaded another bolt.. she didn't fire. Ragnarok groaned to itself, before unleashing a pained roar that shook the foundations of the wall, yet it would fall silent still.
-
"Please...trust me!" Traci yelled out, turning to the dragon. "I'm sorry...were you trying to say something?"
-
The beast of black and obsidian scales and flesh would fall silent, though a simple shake of it's massive head suggested two things: it could not speak, but it understood English to some degree. Ragnarok would finish sniffing Traci, resting it's head down as it's eyes studied her still. It seemed calm.. even as the city beneath blazed with blackened fire. It almost seemed like the creature had a revelation.. after delivering a terrible justice to Khaom.
-
"You don't speak? You seem to at least understand...Well, are you going to kill me?" She asked simply, sitting down now.
-
It raised a brow, while it shook it's head again, huffing in a pained manner. The ballista's bolt, embedded in it's back, had begun to dull, though remained there to prevent blood loss. Rue seemed.. well, terrified still, in the background.
-
"I'm...so confused right now..." Traci's mind was racing, unsure whether or not to kill the dragon or let it escape or try and talk more....She thought of her mother, smiling weakly and backing away. "Y-You're no going to go destroy more cities, are you?"
-
Ragnarok stared down at the blackened mess that was Khaom, before it murmured, almost gurgled a little, as Rue would come up to the scene, balanced onto the wall by the steps that brought Traci up to it. She seemed terrified of the beast, as it grimaced at her general presence. "Liz.. what.. happened?"
-
"Shhh, Rue. Don't scare him." Traci sighed, taking another step back. "I think he's done here. I just want to make sure he won't be going around and killing more...innocents."
-
"Are you sure that it's a he." As if understanding still, Ragnarok nodded it's head towards Rue, confirming it's - or rather, his - gender. The creature would nod towards Traci, though it would still sniff her yet, as if searching for.. a scent, perhaps. "Liz, why is it.. he.. searching you?"
-
"I'm...I'm not sure." Traci curiously stared at the dragon in confusion.
-
"I don't.." Rue murmured, as the creature would then rumble gladly, satisfied with it's searching. Rue would shake her head as she sat down. "...There's nothing from this. This was a complete failure, on my part. The Trayvens.. they'll take this cesspool once they hear.."
-
"I'm so sorry, Rue...this is my fault too." Traci began to fake crying a little, shaking her head. "I should've done better."
-
"...We'll fix this. Okay? We'll.." Ragnarok huffed then, as if wanting to grab Traci's attention. The beast knew something that Rue didn't know at all. A familiar scent, recognition of another individual.. something of the sort.
-
Traci turned her attention back to the dragon. She stared into its eyes, wondering why it hadn't just gone away by now. "What is it?"
-
"It's like it's.." Rue fell silent, as Ragnarok would lean down it's head, huffing smoke from its nostrils as it beckoned for Traci to.. climb onto it. Perhaps, unlike Rue, it had caught onto her masquerade. That was still a problem. Revealing to Rue. Eliminating Rue from the fold, even, though the Tribune forces here seemed to be either dead or retreating.
-
"I'm so sorry..." Traci climbed onto the dragon. "Your sister is okay, Rue. Don't worry, I only knocked her out the other day."
-
"What? Liz, what do you.. Liz, what do you-" As Ragnarok took off, and flew into the sky, it came clear to Rue about what Traci meant. So clear, that a spike of an obsidian black rock flew over Ragnarok, the dragon crying out as it flew down. Though no other shards came, as if Rue had composed herself yet. Beneath Ragnarok's flying form, the city of Khaom burned in despair. Flames swallowed the corrupted place entirely, black fire coating the buildings and walls. It was a hopeless sight. But a deserving one, nonetheless. So Ragnarok began to fly off, off into the distance.
Fin. Final bit coming up, alongside a recollection and finishing of Empress of Fire.
