"That just costs money...doesn't make any."
Lyn kept a hand on her blade's handguard.

"It did, but they made deals here and there so that they earned a certain percentage of the income from any of the stores. Not to mention, they were paid handsomely by some of the dojoites." Malcolm explained, as the two walked through the forest for a few minutes. Eventually, Malcolm came to a halt and crouched down, looking between a few trees. In a small clearing, there were six bandits lounging around, going through burlack sacks.
-
"Okay, so not a charity at all." Lyn crouched down as well, looking all around her cautiously.
-
"No... Unfortunately not..." Malcolm winced at the thought, crouching down alongside Lyn. Two bandits were on patrol, walking around the outskirts of the camp while the others were going through their loot. "I'll strike the two guards and then move in on the far right. You rush into the center from the left, we'll hit them on two flanks..." Malcolm laid out the plan, holding his blade tightly.
-
"If that's how you want to do it, it is your call..." Lyn moved to the left, waiting behind cover until he took care of the guards.
-
In a sudden burst of speed, Malcolm broke out of the underbrush of the forest and charged into the two bandits on patrol. He slammed his shoulder into one of them, sending the man sprawling to the ground before swinging his blade at the second. Both bandits were on the ground, one dead while the other was unconscious. With those two down, Malcolm rushed toward the center of the clearing where the other bandits had started drawing their weapons.
-Help him fight -Watch the fight go down
Moving like the wind, Lyn swiftly and silently sprinted around the bandits and sliced at their backs with her longsword. She quickly sheathed it after the slash, confident it was enough to cripple any normal foe. "I just realized, I probably didn't have to murder them."
-
Of the four, three fell from the slash, with Malcom finishing off the last one. He slashed his blade through the air now, droplets of blood falling to the ground. "It's better this way. It would send a message to other groups that might to turn to thievery... It's also the surest way to assure their compliance." Malcolm said morbidly... Though with full honesty.
-
Lyn sighed, wiping her blade off with a rag before sheathing it again. "Yeah, but it's sad....I need to get back to my more forgiving and heroic self." She chuckled quietly, looking around the camp. "I used to be a lot more fun. I remember that during the party after the whole Coldbourn thing, I got so drunk I could barely walk straight and talked complete nonsense."
-
"You could be more fun, Miss Lyn. Relieve some of the duties that have fallen onto your shoulders." Malcolm offered, sheathing his blade in his cane once more. "Allow me to take control of some of your resources. Build a proper defense for the dojo, alliances with those around us. You can always keep me within an arms reach to insure that I do not overstep my bounds. I will report everything I do to you before hand, and it could help you in growing as a leader. Because to me... It seems you may not be totally confident..." There was alot of transparency on Malcolm's part. Though it was genuine, and he had done something to try and prove himself to her. While others wouldn't even go so far to talk to her. Could he be what the dojo, and Tatakai needed? Or was he simply another power hungry villain that would betray her?
-
"I'm confident..." She turned to him with a serious expression for a few moments before bursting into laughter. "Who am I kidding? I suck at this leader thing. Yeah, sure, I'll see what kind of position I can give you. I could use the extra help since my current advisers are f*cking useless."
-
A soft, hearty chuckle escaped Malcolm's lips and he extended a hand to Lyn. "To a prosperous... Alliance. And a good friendship, Miss Lyn. I look forward to working with you."
-
Lyn shook it with a smile. "Yeah, sure, man."
-
"Now, if you'll excuse me. I have matters to attend to. I will however, be seeing you around, as one might say." With a final nod, Malcolm walked off back toward the docks of Dojoville. Leaving Lyn alone in the clearing.
-
"Cool. See ya around." Lyn jogged off, heading who knows where.
End?
