It wasn't the factor that they were emus that pissеd the Trayvens off. It was the fact that they were birds in general. Trayvens hated birds - ask the Rivelrians, with their eagle sigil and their utter wasteland of a nation. As the emus drew near, they found the paths not only blocked off by the occasional vigilante and edgelord, but also squadrons of compacted soldiers - phalanxes to be exact, with spears backing their shields and some specialists with shortswords in the attempt to drive off the birds who came close.

 • The drumming sound of the emus was enough to shake the ground alone, but their sheer size added to the grounds trembling, as if the planet itself geared the birds. Off in the distance, one specific emu, with an old Australian military helmet, jumped up onto a rock and overlooked the battlefield. It took a large puff of the cigar in its mouth as it narrowed its eyes at the Tayverns. "They're trying to resist...." Hundreds of birds crashed into the shields in an instant, using their dead brothers as steps to jump over the shields and land on the men behind them.

 • The phalanxes would not allow some to hop over their shields, as their spears pierced the creatures nonetheless, as the units would begin to close together into a circular formation. Alarm horns blew from the center, as those with swords and axes had cut down the emus who broke through.

 • The birds pecked out the eyes of their enemies, trampling those that were unlucky enough. The emus were being slaughtered, but their sheer numbers made the countless lives lost not even leave a dent in their numbers.

 • "Receptum!" One commanding word rang through the air, as the Trayvens would begin to back away from the slaughter, pulling the emus deeper into the city. Their numbers were dropping, and while they weren't as numerous as the emus, they certainly held them in place still.
