"Alright, systems online. You sure it won't rip me in half, Command?" Evan had to ask, last test some poor soul got wrenched in half by the semi bulky set of armor. Although this time, the eggheads at R&D swore they got it right, and crunched the numbers. They wanted Valkyrie to test it, their bodies where more durable, more built to handle something like this armor.
So there he stood, Evan Xiao, Gamma Company; ID 771.
Next to him, stood Emily "Minx" Black, Foxtrot Company; ID 093.
Both of them where younger than the previous companies, so far only Gamma and Foxtrot where stationed upon Tatakai, with not much to do, and since eggheads back home needed tests done, they had no choice.
The two soldiers stood in the small clearing, devoid of trees and life save grass and the dirt, with high walls surrounding the football stadium sized clearing; a building set up with flood lights on, aimed down at the two. In truth the area was set up for the public anomalies to use too, as a sign of friendship.
Then the speaker in Evan's armor piped up.
"Evan, have some optimism! The eggheads said we would survive, plus this armor is pretty damned cool." Minx echoed in his headset, and he couldn't help but grin. The damned woman was always optimistic.
Then he responded, equally cheerful in how he worded things.
"You know, Minx, your right!
Maybe this time, the suits will work correctly!
I mean, its not like Johnny got snapped in half!"
He chuckled then, his usual sarcastic demeanor getting the best of him.
Minx followed suit in laughing, the two doubling over while the scientists watching shook their heads in disapproval.
A ding was heard in their headsets then.
"Emily, Evans.
Shut up and snap too, we have work to do."
In the small instant those words where spoken, the two soldiers shut up, snapping to attention.
Leon, the 30 something year old man with no wife or kids and a hard on for designing tech; they respected him as much as he respected them.
Leon spoke again then, using a push-to-talk microphone from inside the building to communicate.
"Alright you numskulls, lets see what you can do!
Those suits you two are wearing, we call Gen:Lock, or GL; abbreviated for Good Luck.
Those are Mark IVs, the latest and greatest.
Why don't you think of a sturdy melee weapon?"
Minx and Evans glanced to each other then, grinning under the sheen black visors of their helmets. The both of them didn't know how the armor worked; Leon said it was through their neural links, think and it does.
Well, Minx tested that first; as the first thing to pop into her mind was a massive hammer. The suit clicked then, hydraulics working as in her very hands; a black fluid seeped from the armor, hardening into a mixture to rival Titanium-Carbide plating, and then formed a massive hammer. The weapon being some seven feet in length, the head of it being one sided, counterweighted with a blade on the back.
Leon grinned from his vantage point, watching.
Minx was laughing, with a grunt she hefted the massive thing into the air, swinging it about as its weight carried it around, slamming into the ground and scattering dirt and rocks.
Evans on the other hand, had a different idea on melee; conjuring up a simple broad sword, scaled to his size. The black fluid hardening into a honed blade, its density shifting to match the weight of a real sword. He gave it a good few test swings, thoroughly impressed.
Leon echoed in their headsets again then;
"Good job you two, you didn't wrench yourselves in half.
Johnny didn't get this far before; seems the eggheads where right, Valkyries would be better for this.
Your previous experience with armor that melds with the mind is phenomenal."
In truth, what he meant was the standard TALOS powered armor systems Valkyrie soldiers used.
Now though, Gen:Lock would be added to that armor, as Minx and Evans would be the first of a new breed of soldier, able to adapt to any situation.
"Ay Leo, what exactly can this armor do?
Asking for a friend." Minx had to ask it, as Leon chuckled.
"Melee for now, although they can create shields, armor plating, and once we can master transforming matter, anything.
Gen:Lock is the first step." He responded in a cool voice, calming himself down. "You two keep experimenting, I need to record the data.
Please don't kill each other!"
Minx grinned then, as Evans turned to face her.
If there was one thing Valkyrie could do; that was understand each other far too well.
Evans raised his sword, and Minx swung.
Open, experimenting with these two as possibly new characters
New concept armor I'm messing with as well
Feel free to do anything though
The khajiit was on the ground, in lots of pain. He was pretty much useless at the moment. But his sword was created for one purpose, to protect the user. It didn’t know how to,except for one painful way. The sword stabbed itself into the khajiit arm, and started dragging and flying him away from the soldiers. While the magical sword was being a hero, the cat was only partly awake, and he was mumbling something about some hero’s in a far away jungle
the cats mumblings have nothing to do with the fight.
-
Evans went to grab him, but Minx stopped him then, letting the sword drag him away. "He'll bleed to death, sword thinks its helping but its not. Suspending him in the air with two gaping wounds won't do him any form of good in the slightest"
-
The sword gets far enough from the soldiers, and then it starts using the things around it to try to heal the khajiit. It wasn’t really helping, but it was frantic. The khajiit in the other hand was moaning about someone named Abraham.
Abraham isn’t important to this fight
-
With how the sword was acting, Minx watched it, waiting for the Khajiit to either pass out or actually die. It tried to steal from a force far greater than he realized, and there was a price to pay for it.
-
The khajiit soon passed out soon. The sword worked furiously on his wounds, but the sword isn’t a doctor, it’s a weapon. Made to hurt and not heal
-
She kept watching further, Evan losing interest and heading back towards the building.
-
The sword looks at the remaining soldier, it is trying to beg for help. It just stairs at the soldier and the khajiit. And than it falls to the ground, not moving a inch
-
He assaulted first, yet at the same time Minx felt terrible for it all. She wanted to help, but knew what would happen if she did; stern talking, prohibition for months, she's stepped out of line before, and at this point it wouldn't do her any good in the end.

The khajiit lays still, he is breathing, but dying
YES! Sorry. I was doing what you do when a d&d character drops below 0 hit points. You have to role a d20 three times, if you succeed, you go to one hit point, but are unconscious. If you fail, well you die. I luckily succeeded
She let the thing be then, turning around as the halberd melted back into the armor, leaving the cat be.
