How Masterworks could be improved

[b]1) Masterwork bonuses can be upgraded somehow.[/b] They're too weak right now. I say they should be upgrade-able using Masterwork Cores and Legendary Shards. Furthermore, Magazine size bonuses should receive a buff all around, as a few measly extra bullets in an auto rifle is as inconsequential as it can possibly get. [b]2) Masterwork armor should double the attribute increase provided by the player's chosen perk.[/b] You know how every armor piece has two nodes in it that each increase a different attribute by one point, and the player only gets to choose one? Yeah, Masterwork armor should make that increase by two points instead. [b]3) Masterwork armor should increase damage resistance during your Super by 5% instead of 3%.[/b] I feel like having 15% as the upper limit is kind of underwhelming. [b]4) Creating Masterwork armor shouldn't re-roll the armor type automatically.[/b] If the player wants to re-roll their armor, it should be a choice they make by themselves, not one that's made for them. 5) When you re-roll a Masterwork of any kind, it should NOT give you the exact same buff, ever. When you re-roll Recovery armor, it should only ever come out as either Resilience or Mobility, it should never give you Recovery again. When you re-roll Magazine Size on an Auto-Rifle, it should only ever come out as Reload Speed, Handling, or Range. It should never come out as Magazine Size from Magazine Size. 6) Orbs created by Masterwork weapons should grant additional Super energy when picked up by a guardian wearing Masterwork armor, with the amount getting higher the more they have equipped.

  • 1) Agreed, and there are many ways to go about doing this. 2) Masterwork armor should allow you to allocate the stats of an armor piece exactly how you want them. Done. That is all. 3) Masterwork armor should stay the way it is in PVP, and increase your PVE damage output by 1% per piece masterworked (hell, get spicy and make it 2%!). Ignorning the ability to use masterworks to change an armor set from mobility to recovery, the only thing I've seen where the stat swap actually matters is on titan boots (swapping to resilience removes all mobility while recovery doesn't, resulting in an overall better stat allocation). Why I say this is because masterworking hunter armor is completely worthless right now because of the inherent mobility to the class.. unless you run around using pole dancer for god knows what reason. 4) Yep, laughed when I MW'd my first armor and it changed the type. Stupid. 5) Yep, see my answer to #4 for further details. 6) Brilliant! Although I'd probably take additional grenade recharge instead; I blow a lot of supers right now in PVE because of all the orbs I'm creating.
