Destiny 2 was a good game... For about 5 hours. Then the cracks started to show. You could see where time was cut short, design decisions that were never properly tested, concepts that never got explored. But hey, we got three events with new, unrecycled gear for Destiny 1 during Rise of Iron. I get the fact that the live team is seperate from the actual development team, but the fact that Age of Triumph had (objectively) more content than Curse of Osiris is a little silly.

D2 was good but way too short to be $60 when D1 offers exponentially more for much less.
D2 is dying, and unless Bungie either does a complete overhaul, or The Taken King 2.0 revives it, people won't be around for year 3. Should Bungie just accept the loss and not come out with any events to instead focus on Destiny 3? I doubt D2 is just the result of poor time management, let's be honest, the Destiny franchise has been a dumpster fire from the start. D1 had a terrible launch, both DLCs were revealed to have been cut content, no weapon balances for 9 months, poor company community relations, and it goes on and on and on.
TL:DR
D2 is probably going to be dead before Y3, so Bungie should just focus on D3 rather than live ecents and DLC. Also, try to make a good game, rather than just a game.
Think about it though, the Thorn/Last Word meta lasted for 9 months without Bungie working on it, but we got The Taken King from it, what most people consider to be the best thing to happen to Destiny. Then they continued to support the game afterwards with live events and we got Rise of Iron, which was a little lackluster. Then we got even more live events and ended up with D2. Are you noticing a trend here?
TL:DR
Ironically, the longest time that Bungie ignored us resulted in what most people consider to be the best part of Destiny. It seems the more timethat Bungie is trying to fix holes in the boat is time that could be spent on making a new, sturdier boat.
Bungie could either do an Age of Triumph instead of a DLC, or Host an open Alpha so we don't end up with another system like two primaries that no one asked for. Actually, I think a year of Alphas and Betas would be much better than a year of live events. Have an Alpha with proof of concepts like the loadout system or any major functions that they need to fix, then have a Beta that has any fixes from the Alpha and to see how people react to things like tokens or consumable shaders, then a final Beta to test the servers. All the while they need to have people like Deej and Cozmo actively talking with players on the forums and reddit for feedback, rather than the usual "We've heard your feedback and notified the team" garbage that they've posted in the past.
TL:DR
Rather than beating a dead horse, work with the community for D3 instead of the superficial community involvement Bungie has had in the past
TL:DR
Should Bungie make a DLC for Destiny 2 year 3? I think they should spend that time making sure Destiny 3 is good rather than half assing it because they were too busy with DLC and live events.
