Or are they the same person? Who of them is the devil?
-
1. Satan is the demon of pride, Lucifer is the demon of wrath. 2. They are different names for the same being. 3. Satan is God's antagonist, who presides over the demons, one of which is Lucifer. It really depends who you ask.

Depends on which story you follow. The common view amongst Christians is that Lucifer was an angle that turned against god and became Satan. Like Aniken to Darth Vader.

Lucifer was God highest ranking angel and leader in the worship of God, but Lucifer wanted to be God, he tried to fight God and he was thrown down to hell by God’s one of God’s angels, Gabriel. Lucifer had many followers in heaven and many followed him to hell. He later tempts Adam and Eve creating human sin, giving him some domain over earth. Later in history there was a period where the fallen angels reproduced with human women creating the demonic spawn that usually does his bidding. He was later called Satan deeming he was no longer worthy of the name Lucifer and was changed to Satan or the Devil. Just as God changed Abrams name to Abraham in the Old Testament.

They’re the same thing, Satan’s name is Lucifer

That's like saying what's the difference between Anakin and Vader. But seriously, who cares, a boring character from Christian fairytales. Much more interesting fictional characters out there😏

ok since I actually researched the topic I can weigh in with some informative knowledge. 1. lucifer translates to bringer or bearer of light. meaning Lucifer was an entity created in light by God. this entity or even possible entities were endowed with free will, yet contained within them a fragment or divine shard or essence of light and knowledge. They broke away and negated that light and they came into life on their own accord. this how you get the word EVIL and you spell it backwards equals LIVE. Satan or Satanas is for the most part a creation of the church used for generations to scare believers and non believers alike. In more modern day times Satanists are a sect or religioun used to promote an ideology or belief of a divine presence a being like God ( or not depending who you ask) yet extricabley linked through powerful archetypical forces that serve to empower or provide both wordly and spiritual benefits.

Edited by HurtfulTurkey: 3/7/2018 10:15:53 PM'Lucifer' is a latin translation of the Hebrew word for "morning star", used to mock a king of Babylon in the Old Testament. 'Satan' is a Hebrew word used to describe an angel or some type of 'accuser' sent by god to screw with various people. In Christian fanfic this turned into Lucifer/Satan being some sort of fallen angel that tries to make people be evil. There's not really much biblical evidence for this interpretation.

One of them is a shitty TV show and the other is an Offtopic dweller that fell in the Purge.

Their the same dude

Lucifer was once the highest angel in Heaven but due to him trying to become God and rebel against Him. So Lucifer was cast from Heaven and is now named Satan.
-
I thought Lucifer was Satan's dad.

Think Lucifer has better stats
