David Hogg, Emma Gonzalez, and all the other members of the #neveragain movement claimed this weekend after giving speeches, that the revolution has begun and that we are witnessing the birth of democracy, or something to that effect.
Their plan seems to be similar to the "rock the vote" movement where young people, 18 and up, are encouraged to register to vote and then to cast their votes for the liberal progressives.
The #neveragain movement wants to vote all republicans out of office as well as any democrats who are pro-gun.
Mr. Hogg has told the politicians, through speeches, that they need to get their resumes ready, because he and the other young adults are going to ensure peace and tranquility for the entire country by removing them from office.
Mr. Hogg and his ilk claim that these politicians do not represent their constituency, which is false. Mr. Hogg and his ilk say that anyone who is pro-gun has the blood of children on their hands, wants to kill more children, and are only concerned about money and selling more guns.
His talking points and his delivery are straight out of "Rules for Radicals" by Saul Alinsky.
And despite saying all this, when interviewed by Fox News, Mr. Hogg claimed that his message was being distorted by Fox News and that he believes in the second amendment. Going on to say that his father is a retired FBI agent and that they have guns in their home.
While Mr. Hogg's and Ms. Gonzalez's intentions are admirable they fail to understand that America is a diverse country where people don't always agree. And that their desire to silence any opposing viewpoint reeks of tyranny.
They come across as two young communist revolutionaries who think they've got it all figured out. And that if we just listened to them and did what they asked, reality itself would bend to their will. They actually believe that we can live in a world without guns. Where the military and law enforcement are the only ones allowed to use weapons and criminals will no longer exist because guns will no longer be legal.
In my opinion, this is a pipe dream.
Mr. Hogg, who wishes to infringe on the rights of hundreds of millions of Americans, got upset when he was told that every student at his high school would be required to wear a clear, see-through backpack and claimed that it infringes on his first amendment rights. Ha!
In a year or two, perhaps less, these two will be forgotten. Their movement mocked for its seemingly unrealistic attempt to prevent the inevitable.
Oh well.

Take away the second and the rest will follow. Come on police state...

Edited by logan678910 65: 3/28/2018 12:20:48 AMI do encourage them to attempt to try and take guns away from people who don't want their guns taken away. I'm curious as to what would happen.

They're not exactly wrong for politicians not representing the people. America is one of the most politically apathetic 1st world nations in the world, with midterm elections being recorded to having only a 35% voter turnout rate in 2013. This low turnout is from people who are eligible to vote, not counting people who are younger than 18 or have not registered to vote. In this part of California, this place is heavily Republican (imagine for every 10 people, there's probably 7 or 8 that are Republican), yet this place tends to vote Democratic. This is because the voter turnout for this county is one of the lowest turnouts in California. It's not because of voter suppression or whatever, but because people in this area just don't give a shit about politics when it comes to voting, but they always love to whine and complain that the people that have been elected for this county and state do not represent their views. The generation after mine is heavily opinionated and very passionate about politics, which I personally like. It shows that they give a damn about where this country is going or where they want to steer it towards. Compared to previous generations like my generation or even my cousin's generation as a Gen X'er, the Gun Violence generation has the courage to say and do things that my generation was too much of a coward to do. I don't necessarily agree with everything the next generation says, but I'll give them a lot of respect because they're being very proactive in what they believe in rather than just complaining about things in the US right now behind a computer screen like my generation did.

Funny how the gun toting, 'murican patriots scream second amendment, how their country is the greatest and the good old freeeedom!!!!! Yet also believe that their government is so sinister that if the citizens didn't have assault weapons it would become so tyrannical beyond what satan could devise and that they need a gun to protect themselves from everyone else because everyone is an armed criminal.

Actually see through backpacks isn't a bad idea . . .

It is never good to be a single issue voter. By voting on one issue, you neglect other important issues.

Surely worth mocking

One week they're eating Tide pods and now they're gun experts and revolutionaries?

Forgotten is apt for Americans like yourself. Founding fathers, slave owners. School shooters,oh yeah it was like that back then. You lot seem to forget about a lot of things. Oh but they released all the slaves.

<Peace and tranquility are mere concepts. The way humanity is, nay, the way NATURE is there won't be such a thing as peace.>

1 of my reasons for wanting a gun is for spite

Do people honestly think that a,gun is the only way to protect yourself or others? God damn, people are lazy.

"Sire! The peasants are revolting!" "I know. They stink on ice." "No! Revolution!"
seriously tho, this reminds me of how dictatorships start.
