Its a Court of Oryx that ramps up to 7 different difficulty tiers. Its honestly a great idea and think it will be the best public event type mode we have had in Destiny. My only concern is... how long till people don't care about it.

It depends on the loot I guess. They will have to get the drop rates spot on. Too high and it will be dead in a month. I dunno, it looks like fun but I’m not hyped until I play it.

I agree that it's a cool addition, but it's the only "endgame" addition they've added. It's just outright lazy to add a public event with more intricate mechanics and call it endgame...

Do we know if Escalation Protocol will drop gear that will let players reach the hard cap level?

Yes it drops end game loot. But you can only get one piece of end game level loot per week, so it's not going to be a huge light level booster.

About 5 mins after watching the stream😂.. Hard light, mars, frozen hive.. Sounds like a copy and paste job to me. Totall lack of fantasy.

You could do better? You clearly have not read up on everything like the hive worm God were up against or nokris. And a new raid lair. Also last time I checked d1 mars never had snow

Yeah. A new mini-raid lair! (Does that count as a raid?) And put some snow on mars.. wow.. Guess some of us are easily entertained, and some are not.

It entertains me enough since I have a busy enough life, like the games and there stories, don't weigh 400 pounds, and don't live in my mother's basement crying about a game on some online forums. If your so disappointed don't come back or wait till September like most people.

And, you know, enemies that are still a threat are, well, you know, still a threat. Or the fact that there's actually very few planets we haven't explored already in destiny. Mercury, Venus, earth, mars. There's only so much you can do when it comes to exploring our solar system.....

They labeled it as end game content, so i guess/hope the rewards and progress scale accordingly. Im am surprised they made content that can be played by all groups simultaneously. If its good and has staying power they may have hit the nail on the head with this one...go figure..

The first wave enemies are at LL 370 so I’d say so

Good...a nice change of pace..just hope every 5 week rotation changes up the weapons. I wonder what the max player count could be 10,15,20.people at once would be insane

I wouldnt be surprised if some of the new catalyst upgrades for exotics can be found through the escalation protocol or public events in general. Im also curious if there wont be a trigger to take the escalation protocol to a heroic level. These would add even more reasons to grind this event out

7 waves, with the final boss (7th wave) (this type of boss being one of 5 on rotate every week) dropping a specific loot As explained in the twitch stream

barret people are still smashing out public events 8 months in. they are always lively so i dont see this being an issue.

Good XP for level up too for those grinding out Bright Engrams before the season changes. I get roughly 6-7k XP for the event itself with the well-rested perk, plus maybe another 2-3k for all the kills and that's 8-10k altogether. That's not a bad bump up the ladder honestly, and that's without Ghost buffs or medalions.

i dont know why anyone would have to grind for exotics i recon i had them all in the first two months. basically handed them to me for nothing.

I agree. But if they put this type of event in each location and have it as part of faction rallies. It would give it legs
