[u][b]Order of Burning Light[/b][/u] [b]Who is OBL? [/b] Order of the Burning Light [BURN] is an XB1 clan founded by a handful of close adult friends who decided that we’d always play Crucible on Friday nights. BURN was founded a couple of days before the launch of Destiny 2 with the original goal of having more Guardians to enjoy D2’s content with, and started off slowly building by bringing in some of the additional core members who are now on the Admin team. As the months passed, we became a max-capacity clan farming all D2 activities. Despite our growth, the core of the clan never passes up our Friday Night Drunken Crucible Fest: our tradition no matter what else is happening in game or life. [b]Why Join a Clan?[/b] Destiny is a social game. Much of its endgame requires group participation- and looking for groups out in the wild can be hit or miss. Joining a clan changes that dynamic. The right clan for a Guardian will consist largely of like-minded individuals, all investing in themselves and each other to expand in skill, ability and camaraderie. This means a pool of players you can count on for mutual help or to chill with. A good clan will be a major part in the Guardian experience as D2’s Season 3 begins thanks to the return of the “Power Matters” mentality and Bungie’s approach to the new soft and hard Power Level caps. This means Guardians will need to participate in Destiny’s multiple endgame activities (Raids, Nightfalls, Trials and Prestige Modes) in order to level effectively to the max Power Level. [b]Is BURN Active?[/b] Yes. BURN floats normally between 95-99 active members. We boast about 80-85% of our members active within any given 24 hour period across all time zones, 90-95% active in a given week. We are so active, and new applicants are so high in number, we have split our clan into 2 Divisions so today is your lucky day! This means double the Guardians that are available for you to game with! [b]How Does BURN Stay Organized?[/b] Primarily, through Discord app. This has become a required tool for our clan that greatly helps our membership stay in touch any time they want or need to. Through Discord, we are able to: 1. Keep track of active (and inactive) members to maintain a healthy Guardian pool. 2. Utilize stat and leaderboard tracking for friendly and fun competition within the clan and personal progress logs, as well as News/Announcements to keep up with Destiny 2 information & weekly reset updates. 3. Easily create scheduled or on-the-fly Fireteams for activities such as Raids, Crucible, Nightfall, Questing, Leveling and more using our LFG system. 4. Use the Discord Role system to identify members who take the initiative in particular game or clan management areas and assign them accordingly, giving members a little something extra to work toward. 5. Get to know each other better and bond more closely as a group by having a platform to share, joke and communicate on frequently. 6. Using our tag system, members opt into notifications for activities of their choice. 7. Keep track of BOTH of our BURN Divisions in a single, unifying platform giving all members access to a complete double clan roster. [b]Can You Explain Your Roles?[/b] Glad you asked. The Bungie.net app allows a single clan Founder and as many Admins as you like. However, the Admin role is too generic and usually too privileged to hand out to everyone who gets heavily involved in the clan- especially in an already highly active clan. Discord Roles gave us a better system, and have given members things to work toward and achieve in areas they may not have otherwise. While we do have the [i]Founder[/i]-level Role as well as an Admin-level Role ([i]The Vanguard[/i]), we have many others. For example: [i]The Prestige –[/i] For members who have achieved a full Prestige Raid clear (no checkpoints!) [i]The Worthy –[/i] For members who have visited the most secret levels of The Third Spire. Our Third Spire Discord Channel is only accessible by those who have attained this Role. [i]The Fallen –[/i] For members who have achieved the highest in Nightfall Competitive Scoring. [i]Raid Sherpa –[/i] Members who have established themselves as both our most knowledgeable Raiding Guardians AND who continually help less experienced folks create teams and learn the content. This is currently our fastest growing Role, the Raid Sherpa family takes great pride in what they do and inspire their Sherpees to become Sherpas themselves as time goes on in many cases. Most of our Sherpas have dozens of Destiny 2 clears, and some have hundreds. The private Raid Sherpa HQ channel allows them to discuss strategy and plan successful raids consisting of veterans and newbies. [b]What Can Burn Offer Me?[/b] BURN will offer you a highly active, quasi-mature and adult clan that participates in all Destiny 2 activities every day. From world events like Nightfalls, Public Events and other Milestones… or special events like Faction Rallies. From Crucible oriented content like Quickplay, Competitive, Iron Banner, Crimson Days, or Trials of the Nine. From Normal or Prestige Level Raids like Leviathan or EOW. Or even just to shoot the shit in a party or Discord chat with likeminded gamers, BURN will be here to make your play experience more efficient, rewarding and fun. [b]What Does Burn Expect From Me?[/b] Just a few things: 1. [i]Use Discord:[/i] This is our primary communication tool. While we hate to have a requirement for any app outside of the game, we have found that with few exceptions, members not on Discord tend to be more disengaged and eventually go inactive. Discord really does keep members in touch with the clan and vice versa, and it’s easily obtainable on any phone or tablet device as well as PC. 2. [i]Maturity:[/i] BURN is primarily an adult clan. We already have jobs- to us maturity isn’t about not having fun and not joking around. Because we will. Trust me, if you give most of us an opportunity, we are going to make fun of you and we expect you to do the same back. Banter is what we do best. Maturity doesn’t mean don’t cuss or avoid taboo topics, because we are all about letting steam loose. Maturity means not bringing drama, or creating drama in our Parties and Discord. It means balancing joking with respecting others on a personal level. Excessive negativity, disrespect, victim-playing, and begging/spamming will result in a ban from our Bungie Clan and Discord server. And then we will talk shit about you. 3.[i] Be Active in D2: [/i]We are on adult schedules, with adult responsibilities who find time to play Destiny regularly. For members who need an extended leave, we ask that if it is anticipated to go beyond 3 weeks that you let us know so we make sure not to remove you. This is fully understandable, as sometimes life will take us away for a week or more. 4. [i]Have Fun:[/i] Literally a requirement. Keep in mind, everyone’s trying to enjoy their down time. It’s okay to have discussions and different opinions about things like the state of the game, but we keep BURN as salt-free as humanly possible. [b]What Is BURN Looking For?[/b] BURN has just expanded into TWO Divisions. The max-100 Guardian membership has been split between both, and we need YOU to fill them back up: [b]WE REQUIRE[/b] our members be salt-free, enthusiastic and highly active Guardians looking to join with an active clan for the first time, or are looking for something to replace a dead (or crappy) clan with.
