So yesterday i spent my day grinding D2 in hopes of power leveling my 2nd character(Hunter). I did everything from Public Events, to Strikes, and even Raiding. Honestly i was just hoping to get the Orpheus Rig since they're the god tier exotic for PVE Hunters. In total I got 5 exotic engrams yesterday. 3 Risk Runners ( all increasing in power) a Lion Rampant ( after playing on my Titan for a bit) and then the glorious fated engram i believe that Xur sells once a week gave me the "Fr0st-ee5", and exotic that I don't find useful. I'm pretty sure you can tell that i was devasted.
I been thinking about Bungie's exotic pool and i feel there's an issue. Why do we keep getting the same exotics constantly when there's such a huge pool to be explored. In D1 everyone grinded to build their collection with strongest exotic gear and exotics to showcase their power and unfortunately it was all for nothing with D2's revamp. But now playing for hours at a time to only get the same weapons and armors honestly kills your drive to play.
So I had an idea. What if Bungie introduced an Exotic lockout system? I know it sounds stupid but hear me out.
-When gaining exotics you will only be able to get about 4 duplicates. Once you hit 4 of the same exotics it locks it out of your engram pool allowing you to gain other exotics a chance to drop.
Isn't why we play Destiny to show off our rewards and accomplishments? Gain high level gear to help complete end game activities? Dominate whether or not its PVE or PVP? Don't you wanna collect every exotic and have chance to experience its power or finesse? Obviously my idea can use more work because I know it'll make the game "too easy" to gain rewards. But i just wanted to see if the community felt the same way I did. Please leave your comments below I would love to hear everyone's voice on this.
